COSY ROOM with some RETRO and ART
While staying in this house built in the 1970's you can experience part of the Most na Soči history ranging from the Iron Age to the socialist times of Yugoslavia: in a small radius around the house archaeologists have found remains from the Iron and Bronze Age, and there are preserved founds of a Roman villa rustica (just across the street from the house). Most na Soči is a small village by a beautiful artificial lake on the magical Soča river, and a perfect base for exploring the Soča Valley. The house itself was built literally by my grandparents' hands as one of the typical Yugoslavian family houses – the same plan could be found from Slovenia to Macedonia in that time. In the apartment, especially in the kitchen, there is much of the original furniture and equipment, including some pieces from the then legendary manufacturers. But you will come across some unique touches added by my hand around the apartment, too. The place is located only 2 km from the train station. There is a bus driving from the station to the village, but you can also follow a path through the woods and take a lovely 20 minutes walk here, if you wish so. The house is located in a very quiet neighborhood (so please, be respectful to kind neighbors and make no loud noises, no parties etc.). Many nice walks are possible from here - green meadows, fields and woods are just two minutes of walk away, waiting for you to sink into their luxuriant greenery. The grocery shop, cafes, post office and bus station are only 7 minutes of walk away. There's a free private parking in front of the house. You will get the house and the bedroom keys for a carefree moving around. Fresh towels, bed linen and free Wi-Fi are provided, as well as shampoo and some other bathroom essentials. Washing laundry in the washing machine is possible, but is not included in the price. The price is 5 € per washing. The apartment is also a home to two quite shy cats, Miloš and Murva (who use to hop around the garden, too). This is not a suitable home for those with cat allergies and I can't host your pets neither, unfortunately. Your private room (17 m2) is located on the ground floor, with windows opening directly to the garden – which hosts also a family of newborn blackbirds each year. The bathroom, too, will be used only by you, and since 2021 the kitchen and the balcony as well, since I don't permanently live here anymore. Please note that the common area of the house entrance and the corridor is sometimes shared with my parents, who live in their own apartment on the first floor of the house. Guests are welcome to use fridge, kitchen utensils, dishes and pantry with spices and herbs, oil, salt and sugar for cooking your own meals. Homemade tea infusions and honey are there for you as well. I don't permanently live here. Sometimes I will be the one to welcome you, though, or there will be my parents who live on the first floor of the house. However, we all are most willing to give you information and tips on must-see and things-to-do in the close surroundings and in the area/region. Most na Soči offers many possibilities for walking and hiking (by the Soča river, through the woods and across the meadows, up the hills). You can take a boat cruise on the lake. If you wish something more than touching the river surface only, some river beaches are rather close. You can try tasty water from the spring which has been told through generations to be a healing one. The village is a good base for discovering the region (rivers, waterfalls, brooks, monuments, museums, mountain pastures and mountains - my mother is a local guide, so we can give you some more info on these), but in this case a car will be needed (you can't reach all those monuments by public transport). The price doesn't include city tax, which is: - 2 EUR/day for adults, - 1 EUR/day for children aged 7-18. Children under 7 years of age don't have to pay tax. City tax needs to be paid at arrival.
