A truly romantic experience! Couples who deserve a cottage break can't look past this! The Little Dundrennan Cottage is in the heart of the stunning Falkland. A beautiful garden full of beautiful flowers and colourful plants will delight you from March till October. The cottage was a stable in the 17th and 18th centuries and now is a pleasant and charming place to stay. Enjoy a king size bed, cozy conservatory, blackout curtains, kitchen amenities , SMART tv, Netflix, wifi and other facilities. The Little Dundrennan Cottage has the view of the garden and the back of Dundrennan Cottage. You can also meet Sherlock(the cat) of Freddie(the dog) walking around the garden and if you invite then, they will be with you! You can enjoy the outside of the cottage. In the garden you will find a wood seat to warm up in the cold mornings or a table with chairs to seat in a sunny day and enjoy a summer drink. Guest access to Little Dundrennan is via the side gate to the left of Dundrennan Cottage on Horse Market. Guests can enjoy and quiet with access to the property without meeting anyone. If guests however want to meet Dionatas he lives at Dundrennan Cottage and can help at anytime. If the guests wish to use the washing machine and tumble drier, please request it in your booking. You can wander the charming streets of historic Falkland, appreciating the village shops along High Street and visiting the famous Falkland Palace, reputedly Mary Queen of Scots' favourite palace. The village offers both a bakery, 'The Palace Pantry" and deli, "Town House Deli & Bakery" supplying local delicacies, fresh pastries and coffee. Campbell's coffee house & Eatery does cooked breakfasts and lunches using local ingredients. You can also walk in 20 minutes from the village to Scotland's flagship organic farm shop "Pillars of Hercules" to have great coffee and cake enjoying the stunning landscape of the Falkland Estate. Beautiful views will definitely be seen! We highly recommend you book a table in one of our three popular village pubs, "The Stag Inn", "The Bruce Inn" and "The Covenanter" in advance of your stay. Falkland offers a rich variety of hill walking landscapes and cycling trails throughout the unspoilt Fife countryside and the Lomand Hills National Park. Falkland is in the heart of The Kingdom of Fife. There is a regular bus service but cars are essential to get around easily. The two nearby train stations are in Markinch 10 minutes and Ladybank 12 minutes driving from Falkland. Guests can visit St. Andrews in 25 minutes, Cupar in 15 minutes and the East Neuk of Fife in 20 minutes by car. Falkland is less than 1 hour from Edinburgh!
