La Claye Sud - your needs catered for

La Claye is an historic farmhouse situated in the Gatine Hills at the source of the River Sevre just across the border from the Vendee. The house is set in its own grounds, is very quiet and secluded and guests have exclusive use of the heated 12m pool (end May to mid Sept). There are large gardens, seating areas, boules pitch, charcoal bbq. There's a village 2 km away with basic amenities but has a superb bar and restaurant, La Petite Noisette! We hope to welcome you to our lovely farmhouse. La Claye is situated in the Poitou Charente region of France on the border with the Vendee. It is an area of rolling hills and woods, ideal for walking, cycling or just relaxing by the heated pool (mid May to mid September). It is ideally situated for two of France's biggest tourist attractions, Le Puy du Fou (30 mins drive) and Futuroscope (50 minutes). Alternatively, an hours drive will get you to the beautiful Vendee Beaches, La Rochelle and the wonderful Il de Re. It is well served by Ryanair and Easyjet with Nantes, La Rochelle and Poitiers airports, all around an hours drive. The house has 5 bedrooms, large lounge, very large dining room, children's playroom with sofabed, kitchen, ensuite, separate family bathroom and downstairs toilet. The air heated pool is 12m x 6m enclosed and has steps and a shallow end. Please note that the pool will be open (heated) from the end of May through to the end of September - depending on the weather. Guests will have access to the garden on the right hand side of the property at both the back and front of the house. They will also have sole access to the pool for the duration of their stay unless agreed on arrival The weekend price doesn't include towels and bed linen but they can be hired for 5 euros per person (paid on arrival) or you can bring your own. Weekly prices include both towels and bed linen. The pool is completely enclosed and is open from the middle of May until the middle of September (weather dependent). Pool towels are not currently provided. The house will be cleaned and ready for use on arrival. Heating is included in the price from the beginning of November to the end of March. We are situated in a rural area of the Deux Sevres close to le Rocher Branlant with its collection of large rocks/stones. We are also within 40 minutes of the Chateaux at St Mesmin and Bressuire which are well worth a visit. There is no public transport nearby but we can offer free off road parking on site for up to 8 cars
