If you're looking for a pleasant night's sleep on a quiet road about 40 minutes from Sacramento, try our cottage! Veggies and herbs for your picking pleasure, fresh fruit and flowers in season, peace and quiet! You get the cottage to yourselves but may see us tending to the plants and animals on our property. :-) NOTE: WE CANNOT ACCOMMODATE YOUNG CHILDREN AND YOUR ANIMALS. PLEASE READ LISTING DETAILS! If you're looking for a pleasant night's sleep on a quiet road about 40 minutes from downtown Sacramento, try our cottage! With more than 50 fruit trees and a big veggie garden on 2 acres, we'll keep a bowl of fresh produce for you in season . . . and we always keep candy, towels and reading materials on hand. From the outside, our place isn't grand, but it's cozy and friendly inside. Park on road directly in front of our house. NOTE: AS OUR HOUSE RULES STATE, WE CANNOT ACCOMMODATE YOUNG CHILDREN AND/OR ANIMALS. DO NOT SEND A REQUEST OR INQUIRY ASKING TO BOOK IF YOU'RE TRAVELING WITH EITHER! DO NOT ASK IF WE CAN ACCEPT MORE GUESTS, PLEASE. Convenient to I-5 and Highways 20, 65, 70 and 99! Downtown Sacramento & Roseville - 40 minutes Sacramento International Airport (Phone number hidden by Airbnb) minutes Toyota Amphitheater - 10 minutes Chico - 1 hour San Francisco (Phone number hidden by Airbnb) minutes, depending on traffic Reno - 2.5 hours, give or take Lake Tahoe - 2.5-3 hours, depending on traffic The Sutter Buttes - 35 minutes Grass Valley & Nevada City - one hour Wifi, private bathroom, fully-stocked kitchen, breakfast fixings for the first morning, orchard and garden for your picking pleasure in season; lots of walking space; gas station/mini-mart and highway access 1 mile away. GLUTEN-FREE pizza is 1 mile away. Fast food, breakfast/lunch diner, Chinese, Mexican food 1-4 miles. Nicer restaurants 5-10 miles. The Toyota Amphitheater is about 4 miles away, as the crow flies. No stairs leading to, or inside of, the space; there is a long footpath of stepping stones across our large yard to reach the space. No animals in the space and no pets permitted with guests Lots of interesting bird visitors year-round. Nearby fields fill with thousands of migrating waterfowl late fall through mid winter. Main bedroom sleeps 2 in a comfy queen bed. Twin bed in a tiny separate room; also 2 folding twin beds and a big, comfy couch in the living room. Charming space heaters; window AC unit in the bedroom; evaporative cooler and ceiling fan in the main living area. If you require consistent temps of 68 degrees year-round, this may not be the spot for you. Spring and fall are fantastic times to visit! And now, the fine print: IMPORTANT: When placing a reservation request, please enter the exact number of your party, including everyone. Not only do Airbnb policies pertain to guests of all ages and sizes, but we provide utilities and supplies for every guest. Increased guest numbers are reflected in increased costs for us, especially in hot and cold weather. - Our guests often describe our space as homey. Yay! However, that's not the same as being at your mom's house. :-) If you make a mess of the oven, microwave, stovetop, etc., PLEASE CLEAN UP AFTER YOURSELF! If you would, empty the grounds from your last pot of coffee or the dregs from your last pot of tea, clean your last set of dirty dishes, and so on. We don't have a cleaning staff and don't charge a cleaning fee. Do not remove the smoke/carbon monoxide detectors. Haven't you seen those scary commercials?! - NO SMOKING OF ANY TYPE INSIDE THE COTTAGE. Smoking permitted outside; dispose of butts safely in outside garbage cans, not inside trash cans. - ABSOLUTELY NO CANDLES! Not only are they a fire hazard, but we have cleaned wax off the table made by our late dad, off the painted floor, off the rug, etc. - No pets are allowed. We have guests and family members with allergies who enter the cottage. - DO NOT DYE YOUR HAIR HERE. Can’t believe we have to write that. Do that at your own home. - Checkout is noon. We need you to respect that so we can prepare for the next guest, just as we prepared for you. If you're here after 12:00 noon, we'll send a Resolution Center request for $20 for every hour or partial hour you're our guest after 12:00. :-) - NO TORRENTING OF DIGITAL MEDIA. If you do this while our guest, you will be billed $100 through Airbnb. This practice can cost us our Internet service. Yuba, Sutter and Nevada Counties are filled with Gold Rush history, tiny towns to visit, gold mines to tour, bird watching, hiking, river accesses and so on. We keep lots of books on local history in the cottage, as well as a binder of info on available activities. Park right in front of our PALE GREEN house on our side of the road. Easy-peasy! Ours is the pale green house; our mailbox is across the road, directly in front of our house. Please don't knock on the door of the white house across the road from us. Located near Highways 65 and 70 Park-and-ride bus to Sacramento stops less than 1 mile away. DON'T USE THE MAP ON AIRBNB. It'll lead you astray, every time. Use the address and directions we've placed on the reservation confirmation page. Also, please don't disturb our neighbors--our address is on our mailbox, which is directly across the road from our house. Our house is pale green. No pets are permitted. On our property, there are external security cameras, which are visible. None are directed toward the rental cottage.
