Kamar Dikebun

A room "Kamar" in Villa Dikebun. A beautiful tropical villa inspired by local architecture wisdoms in a modern and traditional mix of styles, using local and reused materials as well as restored second hand furnitures. A cool yet sunny place surrounded by a private garden, hence the name "Villa Dikebun" which means villa in the garden. A perfect place to relax, read, write and unwind after a big surf day out. Your room opens directly on to the garden. A comfy King Koil bed, ensuite shower and toilet, big ceiling fan (No Air-Con), and a lounge chair to read at the corner will probably make you not want to leave the room. There is an open deck looking out to the lush tropical garden and the stars at night. On a quiet day (which basically is every day), you'll be lulled by the soft sound of waves and birds chirping. One of the perks of this place is the outdoor shower among the banana trees to rinse off after an ocean dip or just to pretend you're singing in the rain. Make your self at home. The day bed "dipan", hammock, the sun deck, deck chairs, outdoor shower, and the garden are there for your convenience. As well as the open kitchen which is fully equipped with oven, stove, fridge, and big sink area. Feel free to help yourselves to tea, coffee or drinking water any time. You can also harvest the garden yourself if you happen to be in the season or if you're a good tree climber. We have banana, papaya, sapodilla 'sawo', lemongrass, chilis, and coconut. We'll meet upon your arrival. We will show you around the house and suggest you where to go or what to do during your stay. We'll be around, as long as it is comfortable for both of us, but mostly we'll leave you be and respect your privacy. We'll be next door or just a phone call away if you need us, just give us a yell. When we are not here, my good friend Ondi or my neighbor can always help you if you have any problems that need tending to. Feel free to call/text/email me at any time during your stay should you need any assistance. We are in the middle of a charming fishing village full of friendly people. You will immediately feel the relax atmosphere. The house itself is located in a private and quiet area, yet it is so close to the action. It's just a walk away to one of the surf points and the beach where you can enjoy the sunrise or occasionally moonrise in the evening. There are some 'warung' (eating places) nearby which have plenty of nice local food with great prices. Although there's always the possibility to cook your own simple meal in the kitchen. During the weekends, when things usually get more exciting, there's a cobb oven pizza served next door. Everything in the village is basically in walking distance. The nearest surf break is the Reef/Karang which is only 2 minutes walk. And then you can enjoy walking along the beach to another surfing point which is a beach break and excellent for beginners as well as advanced surfers. If you walk the opposite direction of the beach, which is westwards, you would find your self among the rice field or to the river where you can enjoy the sunset. Motorbike, which you can easily rent, is a convenient way to cruise around the village or to go beyond. • Due to the openness, the wind, the rain and the nature, it is impossible to keep this house sterile. So this is not the house for the hosophobia. • There are bugs, but they don't really get that bad. Mostly, you will see some fireflies, moth and mosquitoes.
