The Byre is bijou, self catering accommodation for two in the picturesque sailing village of Tayvallich. Formerly a cattle shed, The Byre has recently been upgraded to a high standard and comprises a living area/kitchen, a double bedroom and shower room/WC. The Byre is self-contained accommodation attached to Auchentenavil cottage. Tayvallich is a small fishing and sailing village on the shores of Loch Sween, on the West coast of Scotland. The village enjoys spectacular scenery and has a vibrant community. The Byre is on the edge of Taynish Estate, a site of special scientific interest. Red squirrels, greater spotted woodpeckers, goldfinches, greenfinches, siskins and many other species of bird are seen regularly in the garden. The occasional wildcat has been spotted and roe deer are seen from time to time. The village has a small shop and a pub which serves good food. A car is useful to get around the area. Cycling is popular and there are many good rides locally. There is a regular bus service to Lochgilphead where travellers can pick up the 926 bus to Glasgow. Buses also go from Lochgilphead to Oban.
