Secluded country house with large pool and garden.
'Belle Vue' is ideal for groups of 8 to 10 people but can accommodate up to 12. The house is very secluded but well located for local amenities, the town of Hagetmau being just over 10 minutes drive away. There are many other picturesque towns, markets, fetes and vineyards to be explored as well as numerous sporting and outdoor activities such as golf, tennis, kayaking and cycling. The wonderful sandy Atlantic coast beaches are just over an hours drive through the 'La Landes National Park'. 'Belle Vue' is over 150 years old but has been completely renovated over the last 20 years. The main house has a floor area of approximately 300 sq metres and stands in it's own garden which is fenced all around. The swimming pool is situated to the south side of the house within the fenced part of the property; the main swimming pool measures 12 by 6 metres with a shallow area of 3 by 3 metres to the side designed for younger children. The whole property is surrounded by fields typically growing maize in the summer months. To the front of the house there is a large field with a rough badminton court and space for archery. To the south of the house lies the village of St Cricq Chalosse and on a clear day there are wonderful views beyond of the snow capped Pyrenees mountains. Recently the kitchen has been upgraded with a large fridge freezer, range master cooker and double sink; a great place for gathering while preparing meals. Off the Kitchen is a large barn, in need of upgrading but a great place to play table tennis. This is linked to the garage and then the 'studio' both of which are off limits to guests. To the west side of the house is a covered sitting area with a table which can sit up to 12 people as well as a cooker and work surface and a grassed area for a BBQ. Beside the covered area is a small and very popular petanque pitch. Facing this is a newly completed children's summer house/ mini theatre which proved a great success last summer. A downstairs bedroom with en suit is ideal for anyone who finds stairs a bit of a challenge and there is also a separate WC and shower room off the downstairs corridor. Upstairs there are two further double rooms one with en suite and the other adjacent to a shower room with WC and laundry and there is also a separate WC at the end of the corridor. The largest bedroom upstairs has a double bed and two single beds and tends to be where all the children gather so we call this the 'dormitory room' ! There is a bedroom with three single beds as well as a very small room on the south end of the corridor suitable for a child or baby and there is a lockable door between the landing and the stairs. Whilst the house itself is very secluded it is only a short drive to many famous cities such as Pau, Biarritz, Dax and slightly further afield is the chic town of San Sebastian. In the summer months there numerous 'course landaise' in the local villages, an ancient form of bull fighting that involves no bloodshed as well as the colourful 'fetes' and markets. Some of the woodland to the west of the house is also part of the property and there are well marked walking and Cycle routes on the tracks between the fields. We will be at the house to greet guests and once everything has been explained we will leave everything very much in their hands although in case of emergency we can return within a couple of hours notice.
