A large double bedroom with living area and separate private bathroom. Stay in a historical house, located in a picturesque village on the edge of Derbyshire and Staffordshire, near to Alton Towers . Enjoy panoramic views across open fields and beautiful countryside. The bedroom/living area is spacious and includes a kingsize bed, sofa, TV/DVD player, wardrobe and bed side tables plus space to enjoy a luxury continental breakfast. Newly refurbished in a sympathetic style for the period of the house. You will have your own access to the property though a door that leads you to your private bathroom and on to your large bedroom. You are welcome to use the garden and outdoor drinks/patio area. We will be more than happy to offer you any additional support or advice during your stay - we would like to make your stay as enjoyable as possible. Doveridge is a village environment with lots of open, green spaces. We are fortunate to have a village shop and café, a village pub (serving food) and a village club for drinks (with a pool table and regular live music). We also have playing fields and a playground. We have a cycle path that links us all the way to the local town of Uttoxeter (approximately a 2 mile walk/cycle). Uttoxeter has a host of shopping facilities including supermarkets and eating/socialising establishments. It also hosts a cinema, bowling alley and ice rink. Uttoxeter is also home to Uttoxeter Racecourse where the famous Midlands National takes place. Doveridge is located just 20 minutes from Alton Towers, the famous theme park. We are also just a 15-20 minute drive from the start of the exquisite Peak District National Park. In the other direction from Doveridge, just 3 miles away, is the village of Sudbury that hosts the National Trust property Sudbury Hall and the Childhood Museum. We are approximately 10 miles from the lovely market town of Ashbourne. We are in easy reach of Uttoxeter where there is a train-line that takes you to Derby and Stoke and beyond. There are a number of taxi firms that you can use in the local area. There are buses that run hourly to Uttoxeter, Burton Upon Trent and Derby. If you are doing something in the local area and we are available we are happy to help out with occasional lifts/pick ups. Please ask. We have space at our property for you to park up to 2 vehicles. Your bedroom is within our own home where we welcome you. We have two boys aged 15 and 19 who are used to having regular guests within our home. They are considerate to our guests needs and enjoy engaging with people - they are also useful fonts of knowledge about the local area! There are a short flight of stairs to go up to your room from the entrance and the bathroom.
