The Nook is a newly refurbished 5* detached property situated within the heart of the beautiful village of Cartmel in the Lake District. We offer private parking for up to 4 cars and 3 outdoor seating areas. The property has 3 double bedrooms, one house bathroom with a bath & shower & one bathroom with walk in shower. The kitchen, dining & living ares are open plan, ideal for socialising. The property also has WiFi & Sky TV, a wood burning stove and an outdoor fire pit and Gas BBQ. Recently refurbished to a 5* standard, modern, open plan living space with a lovely log burner for those winter months. The lounge has 2 sets of patio doors leading out onto the spacious patio area furnished with rattan furniture and gas BBQ. To the rear of the house is a further seating area and beautiful lawn with mature plants and fruit trees. The kitchen is fully equipped with gas hob, electric oven, built in dishwasher, fridge freezer and washing machine. When it comes to the bedrooms, no expense has been spared with top quality beds and bedding to make those lazy nights after exploring the lakes that little bit more comfortable. The downstairs bathroom hosts a freestanding deep bath with shower and there is a shower room to the first floor. Uniquely and very rare for Carmel the Nook has a private driveway for 4 cars. We request that guest check in after 4pm and are respectful of neighbours and residents at all times. We do not supply any infant essentials or baby equipment. You have use of the entire house and grounds Self Check In Required. Unfortunately, I won’t be at the property to meet guests, however we do have a housekeeper who can help out if the need arises. Details regarding obtaining the key will be given when booking Is confirmed. There is plenty to do in and around Cartmel. There are plenty of pubs within walking distance and 2 Michelin star restaurants the brain child of Simon Rogan. Unsworths Yard is located in the centre of the village and offers, fine wines, gins and whiskeys or if its a good pint of beer you are after it has its own micro brewery where you can sample its fine cask ales, you will also see them around the village in the pubs. You can sit in the yard and enjoy a drink with a cheese board from the Cartmel cheese shop or a stone baked pizza from the artisan bakery. Cartmel is also home to the famous Cartmel Priory and not forgetting the racecourse, Meetings are held May, June, July and August, please refer to their website for exact dates. If it is the outdoor life you are after there are numerous walks for beginners to the more challenging. If you are after something that little bit different you can take a Segway tour of the area or simply sit back and relax and be shown the area on a horse drawn carriage. There is a local bus that goes to Kendal daily and a train station in Grange over sands. There are a number of Taxi companies but pre booking is essential and numbers are listed in the guest book at the property. 1 Well behaved dog Is allowed. No smoking please
