Riverland's Homestay offers a traditional exterior and a modern yet subtle interior design.You could just relax at the balcony of rooms facing the magnificent river or take a dip in the outdoor pool or go kayaking, swimming or set on a guided boat ride in the Periyar.We have a very quiet neighborhood and all you would hear would be birds and the flowing water. It has always been a dream for us to share the beauty of our place and the positive energy it provides to people all around the world.. Welcome to Riverland's homestay. You could call it a vacation home, a budget resort or even a chalet. Let the pictures speak for itself. Our whole aim is to provide the guests (Families/Groups) with a pleasant stay at our home facing the mighty Periyar river. The exterior of homestay has been done to reflect a traditional look and the interiors boast an ultra modern yet a very simple & subtle feel. We have a very quite neighborhood and all you would hear would be birds and the flowing water. You could just relax at the balconies of room facing the magnificent river or take a dip in the outdoor pool or go kayaking, swimming or set on a guided boat ride in the Periyar. Another unique program includes staycation for ladies in groups which will be managed entirely by lady staffs/Lady host. It will be available on special request through call/email. We offer all meals from Breakfast To Dinner in local/international cuisines. We have tried our best to provide with all the amenities of a luxury hotel and wish to grow and enhance further with your continuous support. The whole property which includes a pool,patio,large garden area, balconies facing the biggest and longest river in Kerala, Hut designated for smoking, Lengthy Corridors, A big kitchen, Work areas (Indoor/Outdoor), a private garage which can park up to 4 vehicles, BBQ facility, Ayurvedic Massage room, and of course the whole river. Extra Resources We Have Includes: 1. Single seater Kayak- Rs.500/- Per Day 2. Wooden Canoe- Rs.1000/- Per Day (Host will navigate around) 3. Ayurvedic Massage treatments could be outsourced and performed at our property by professional therapist. (Rate depends and can be informed if requested prior) Safety Jackets will be provided. Greetings to all. Me and my wife had been abroad for over 25 years and has settled back in our hometown for a relaxed retirement life. I was born and brought up on the banks of periyar river and has countless memories with this place, right from my childhood. It has always been a dream for us to share the beauty of our place and the positive energy it provides to people all around the world.. And, thats how Riverland's Homestay came into existence. I spend my time here in the homestay doing gardening and is really fond of fishing. I use several techniques from chinese baskets to fishing rod's and fishing nets. If lucky you could also savor the fresh local seafood cuisines. Our next dream is to built a neat and well planned animal farm with zero waste and maintain a number of organic fruit/vegetables farms adjacent to the homestay. It should help me self sustain, provide guests with freshest resources and i could sell off the surplus items in the local community. We wish to provide a safe, clean, relaxing and joyful stay for everyone and requests for everyone's support for the same. So check-in, sit-back and relax......... Regarding availability: 1.The host and a staff can be available full time during your stay. 2.If you only need one of our staff at the compound and not the host, that could also be arranged for maximizing your privacy. 3.Lady host and lady staffs can be available for ladies only groups upon special request. The most prominent & nearest attractions are as mentioned below: 1. Abhayaranyam: A haven for animals, Abhayaranyam is a nature rehabilitation centre for orphaned wildlife situated near Kaprikad at Kunnathukadu Taluk in Ernakulam district. Elephants are the main attractions. They offer trekking too. This is a Kerala government operated centre. 2. Malayattoor Church: The Malayatoor Church is situated atop the 609 m high Malayatoor Hill. The church is dedicated to St. Thomas, who is believed to have prayed at this shrine. The Church has a life-size statue of St. Thomas and the imprint of the feet of the Apostle on a rock. This shrine has now been accorded an international pilgrimage station. 3. Iringole Kavu: Iringole Kavu is a famous Hindu In forest temple dedicated to Goddess Durga. This is one of the 108 Durga Temples in Kerala believed to have been consecrated by Lord Parasurama, the sixth avatar of Lord Vishnu. 4. Munnar: Its a hill station located at around 1,600 metres above mean sea level. Munnar is also called the "Kashmir of South India" and is a popular honeymoon destination. 5. Kochi: Called the "Queen of the Arabian Sea" has in-numerous activities for tourists 6. Mahagony Plantation. 7. Rubber Plantations. 8. Haritha Bio-Park. 1. We have big towns with shopping malls at 17 Km's from property. 2. We have lot of grocery and general shops within 2 Km's from the property Too. 1.
