Luxury Yarra Valley & Dandenongs gateway retreat, this magnificent house is perfectly positioned to relax and explore the region. The house is completely divided in two with you having an entire 2 bedroom self-contained apartment to yourselves. 2 large bedrooms with ensuites and shared lounge area, self catering or cooked meal option, huge spa in bed 1, Italian shower in bed 2. 180 deg views, BBQ, verandah & breakfast. The luxury accommodation comprises of the East Wing of this beautiful Old Colonial style home, separated from the rest of the house. Our luxury retreat is warm and cosy in the Winter months and has the most spectacular views to Melbourne, Mount Macedon and the Yarra Valley and is available for small groups of up to five visitors. There are two beautifully appointed bedrooms both with ensuite. Bedroom 1 king size bed and has a shower and large spa, bedroom 2 queen size bed has a modern Italian shower. All fittings, linens and products are of the highest quality for your ultimate comfort. An additional bed can be provided for a fifth person. There is a spacious lounge and dining area, a self catering kitchenette. We are also able to provide delicious meals from an interesting menu, using home grown garden and locally sourced produce. The guest veranda affords outstanding 180 degree views to the city and the Yarra Valley. The property is surrounded by beautiful trees, birds and other wildlife and is the ultimate change of scenery from the big smoke. We offer a BBQ and utensils and seating outside which takes in the spectacular views. Breakfast : We provide a generous, gourmet continental breakfast (a selection of fresh breads/pastries, juice, fresh fruits and yoghurts, eggs from our own chickens, cheese and cold meat, home made jams and marmalade etc) tea and coffee facilities are provided . Weekend delicious gourmet cooked breakfasts are available upon request - 24 hours notice required. The Retreat is separated from the main house by and will be your private area for the length of your stay. There is a separate entrance to the guest area and secure and private off street parking. The beautiful garden is available to you for relaxing strolls. We will be here to welcome you to the Retreat, show you around the property, provide you with advice and to answer any questions you might have about the house or the area. Montrose is nestled in the foothills of Mount Dandenong at the southern most tip of the Great Dividing Range. It is ideally positioned for access to the wineries and attractions of the Yarra Valley. It's also a great place to explore the historic villages and gardens of the Dandenong Ranges. Montrose township boasts restaurants, cafe's, gift shop, post office and a boutique chocolate shop and café. Montrose is located 38km east of Melbourne CBD and is easily accessible by road on the C401. The local train station is 8km away. A regular bus service runs past the driveway and provides a link to the main line rail services and to the top of Mount Dandenong. The property is set on a steep rise hence the spectacular views. Use low gear when you turn onto the drive from the road, drive up-hill for 60 metres and prepare to stop when the driveway levels out straight ahead. Please note, the driveway is inaccessible when you are coming down the mountain (from Olinda) due to the sharp turning angle. You must pass past the house and turn around at the roundabout at the bottom of the hill and enter the steep driveway in a low gear coming from the direction of Montrose.
