Romantic penthouse suite in the heart of Old Barga in Tuscany. Guest accommodation is the entire top floor of the property. The double bedroom opens onto a broad balcony with breathtaking views over Barga to the Alpi Apuane and beyond. Breakfast is optional Nel Cielo was completed in 2013, the last new build within Old Barga. All materials were locally sourced and traditional building methods employed by the small team of artisans and craftsmen. The interior design combines traditional Tuscan features with modern improvements where appropriate. Views from the private and spacious balcony are breathtaking in all seasons Guest accommodation occupies the entire top floor and has independent access from the little street below. The 'street' is typical of Old Barga - many cobbled steps - and so not suitable for everybody. There is a large ensuite bathroom with walk-in, wet-room style shower. Free wireless internet and tea/coffee-making facilities in the bedroom. The room has a large double bed Breakfast is optional as there are many local bars offering cappuccino, delicious sweet pastries and savouries with the opportunity to sit outside and experience the Italian lifestyle. At home, breakfast is served in the large kitchen/dining room on the ground floor with a warm, friendly reception and local information if required. Guests who wish complete privacy will be respected. Please note breakfast is offered as an 'extra' Nel Cielo... di Barga is situated in the heart of the old town. There are many excellent restaurants and bars within minutes' walk from the house. Live music will often be heard from the balcony, drifting up from the local bar - da Aristo. In Summer the town is alive with music (Barga Jazz, Opera Barga, Le Piazzette...), art and local food festivals. The house benefits from a high position in the town and so is light and airy on hot Summer nights The closest public transport is 5 minutes' walk from the house (bus). Barga train station is not within reasonable walking distance but the bus and taxi services are good. Please note that parking is also 5 minutes' walk from the house The accommodation is not suitable for small children
