Snowdonia period home with mountain and sea views
A semi-detached Victorian home ideally situated between Snowdonia National Park and the coast. Recently renovated sympathetically to a high standard. Spend cozy evenings in with the log burner after a day enjoying the various outdoor pursuits Snowdonia has to offer. Sea views to the front and of Snowdon to the rear. The nearest beach is an easy 10 minute drive away, with the numerous stunning beaches of the Llyn Peninsula within 30 minutes. The nearest town, Caernarfon, is 15 minutes away. "Bodawel" is a cosy Victorian property, recently renovated to a high standard. It sits in the village of Llanllyfni, on the western edge of the Snowdonia National Park, between the mountains and the sea. Sleeping accommodation comprises 3 bedrooms: 2 spacious doubles and one single, but with additional full-size trundle bed meaning that six adults can easily be accommodated. There is also a fold-out sofa-bed in the lounge should further sleeping-space be required. The bathroom is spacious and includes an attractive "roll-top" bath. In terms of living space, there is a comfortable lounge with log-burner sitting in an original stone hearth. A separate dining room gives ample space for mealtimes. The kitchen is modern and is well appointed with oven (gas hob, electric oven) fridge-freezer, microwave and dishwasher. The washing machine is housed in an outhouse. The garden provides stunning views on all sides, including of Snowdon through the imposing Nantlle Valley. To the front of the house are views across fields to the sea and, in the distance, over to Anglesey. The house benefits from a good WiFi connection, internet television access, and bluetooth speaker. Access is to the entirety of the property. Mair and Arfon (parents of the property-owner) live in the adjoining property and will be on-hand to assist if requested. However, guests will otherwise be allowed to enjoy use of the property without interruption. The property is situated in the quiet village of Llanllyfni, about 15 minutes drive from Caernarfon. There are no amenities in Llanllyfni, but in the nearby village of Penygroes (approx. one mile) there is a Co-op and various takeaway restaurants. It is worth making a trip to the vineyard at Pant Du, just above Penygroes, where you can enjoy local wines, ciders, apple juices and the stunning scenery. The main attraction, of course, is the outstanding scenery and activities that can be enjoyed from the property. There are various excellent walks directly from the property, including onto the Nantlle Ridge towards Snowdon. The sea is only a 10 minute drive away, with an attractive beach at Dinas Dinlle. Otherwise, the property is an excellent base from which to explore deeper into Snowdonia and the Llyn peninsula. The nearest town is Caernarfon (15 minutes' drive) which has a variety of shops, pubs and restaurants and tourist attractions such as the castle and boat-trips onto the Menai Strait. There is a bus service from nearby into Caernarfon, but it is infrequent. A car is therefore a necessity. Parking is on the roadside outside the property, or along a nearby lane.
