Garden Road Piha paradise - peace, quiet - views!

From our beautiful vantage point overlooking Piha beach, we invite you to take a few days to relax, recharge and enjoy everything that Piha has to offer. Our comfortable three bedroom home has everything you need for a stress-free stay in paradise. Large decking with sun loungers looking out to the ocean, a brand new BBQ for easy meals, a cosy fire for any cooler days, games in the cupboard for family bonding time. Just bring your favourite food, books, togs and maybe a surfboard! Our home is a relaxed beach house, with views of the ocean from each bedroom. We are a five minute walk to the beach, and have easy access to excellent walking tracks. Garden Road is a pearler - tucked away from the busyness, with plenty of beautiful native bush and birdsong in a quiet pocket of houses. For this reason we ask for no noise after 11pm as we have such lovely neighbours. You will be lulled to sleep by the sound of the crashing ocean most nights. Curl up with a book on the couch, or laze on the loungers and work on your tan, in between swims and boogie boarding at the beach, or enjoying the stunning views from the best walking tracks. Plenty of options for eating out if you don't feel inclined to cook, and details will be in your compendium. (A heads up that the cooking set-up is not gourmet kitchen - two gas elements and a small oven so while we regularly cook for a big crowd we are accustomed to the simplicity of it and we will be renovating this at some stage - probably over winter. No television here but free wifi, and lots of books, board games, a great stereo with some vinyl on the turntable! PLEASE NOTE: our driveway is steep. While we are all accustomed to it, its probably best that you initially walk up the 75 steps and check it out before driving up. So the property is not suitable for anyone with mobility issues. The house is yours to use - no other guests here BUT we do have a small cottage at the top of the drive - where you will park - which have a quiet and lovely tenant living in there. They have their own space and don't come up to the house. You are welcome to contact us by phone for any queries, but we wont actually be in Piha. Our house manager lives just a few doors along and can help with any unexpected issues. Garden Road is a peaceful little neighbourhood, tucked away from the often busy summer action ( just a five minute walk from that if action is what you crave!). There is a pond half way along, and a couple of tracks heading down to the beach. We have a lot of full time residents here, so we are very considerate of their peace and quiet too ( hence the no parties rule). You will need your own vehicle to get to Piha - there is no reliable shuttle service. Please be aware that our concrete driveway is steep. There are steps for those who choose not to drive up, and street parking. The beach and all amenities are within easy walking distance so you will be unlikely to need your car during your stay. There will be a few herbs in the garden for you to help yourself to, and we will leave basic condiments etc for your use. We are on tank water - the best drinking water around as it is ozone treated and nothing like the city water! Tank water does require some discipline so we have to ask that guests have short showers, and use the water carefully ie no running taps etc.
