Fern Villa is a characterful Victorian 4 star B&B in a quiet location with stunning sea views. A super location for walking the coast path and exploring this part of West Wales. 5 minutes walk from beaches, ferry to Ireland, train and coastal buses. Fern Villa is a Victorian house which was built on land brought from the church in 1877 for £30! It has had various uses over the years but is now a 4 star B&B. Our twin room which has 2 comfy single beds, is situated at the back of the house, which makes it very quiet. It looks over our lovely 3/4 acre terraced gardens, which you are most welcome to use. This room has been refurbished recently (2015) and now has a lovely exposed stone wall with a quaint little fireplace! As well as two new beds, mattresses, duvets and carpet! It has an en-suite shower room and towels are provided. Free Wifi is available, and all rooms have hospitality trays, freeview tv, radio & hairdryer. Our garden is huge and guests are most welcome to use it, spades and trowels can also be provided free of charge!!! We also have a single room and doubles with stunning sea views if you are in a bigger group. All are listed on airbnb. Breakfasts are taken in a sunny room overlooking the sea and will set you up for the day. We use local produce if we can and everything is freshly cooked to order. Early starts are no problem. We have off road parking and free safe road parking. Storage is also available for cycles. We are situated in the old fishing village of Goodwick in a quiet location, but within 5 minutes walking distance of the beautiful Pembrokeshire coast path, local coastal buses link up the path, so you don't have to walk both ways! We have walked most of the path (has taken about 25 years!) and can definitely recommend it, we have books, maps and binoculars that you can borrow. Fishguard Harbour with its ferry to Ireland is a 5 minutes walk away as is the local train station, Fishguard & Goodwick, with links to Cardiff and London. The village has several pubs/restaurants and a Post Office. Goodwick with its old winding lanes is also worth an explore, and keep an eye out for seals and porpoises which are often spotted from the headland. Fishguard is a pleasant stroll along the coastal Marine Walk and offers more shops and eating opportunities. Why not visit the famous 'Last Invasion Tapestry' situated in the Town Hall, always good for the odd wet day we may get! We also have nearby the relatively unexplored Gwaun Valley with its river and woodland, and also the wild Preseli Hills with its far reaching views and roaming wild horses. The smallest City in the UK, St Davids with its magnificent Catherdral is only a 20 minute drive away and well worth a visit. Further afield, but all reached within an hour are Tenby, with its golden beaches, market towns of Cardigan and Carmarthen. How about seeing puffins on Skomer Island or taking a boat trip around Ramsey? All things that we have done and are happy to recommend. Whether you are looking to stay just for one night or for a short break, you will be made most welcome at Fern Villa. The twin room has an en-suite shower room. You are free to use the breakfast room at any time. Our garden is huge, 3/4 acres which is terraced. Feel free to relax out here and enjoy the wonderful views! This is our home so we are here pretty much 24/7! We are more than happy to help guests with any aspect of their stay, whilst also respecting guests needs for privacy. We love the fact that we are so near to such wonderful coastline and countryside. There are no such things as traffic jams here, if you are held up its usually because of sheep crossing the road to another field!! We are ideally based if you wish to leave the car at home. If you do bring your car then we have off road parking and safe road parking. Fishguard & Goodwick train station is a 5 minute walk away, with trains to Paddington in London. Fishguard Harbour has 2 ferries a day going to Rosslare in Ireland. We are happy to accept late arrivals. The coastal buses are brilliant for walkers as they drop you pretty much on the coast path, there are daily services, with a limited service in the winter. If you wish to hire a car then Hertz is close by. Cardiff Airport is the nearest international airport, about 2 1/2 hours away.
