Welcome to Cottage on the green in the heart of Bollington. A cosy and inviting home from home cottage, on the edge of the Peak District national park. In a fabulous central location within easy access to many lovely restaurants, pubs and walks with stunning views of the Cheshire countryside Cottage on the Green is a cosy converted stable full of character, it even has the original cast iron horse ring attached to the outside wall from when originally used as a stables. Set in the beautiful picturesque green which is surrounded by local restaurants, pubs, cafes and shops. The cottage is in such a lovely spot away from the main road. the local atmosphere directly outside the cottage is so friendly and homely.. People in the area are very welcoming of tourists and the area has a lovely feel to it. The cottage is ideally suited for 4 adults with a double bed in the master room and a double in the second bedroom. The second bedroom is quite a bit smaller than the main bedroom but still just as cosy and inviting. Ground floor – *Living room with electric stove fire, dining area, huge comfy leather 3 seater sofa and cosy leather armchair *Separate Kitchen with stairs leading to first floor First floor – *Master bedroom with a double bed. *Second bedroom (small but cosy) with double bed. Bathroom with bath and over shower, WC and basin. *Garden - Stunning peaceful large front garden square with views of white Nancy in the distance. Parking - You will have one allocated private off road parking space in the attached car port directly connected to the cottage. Street parking is also available directly outside the cottage (no charge) -Not suitable for small children -Gas central heating with thermostat control -WIFI -Books & games -Fridge/freezer, washing machine, electric oven/induction hob, microwave, toaster/kettle -Smart TV with Freeview, DVD player, radio -Bed linen and towels included on arrival -Soap, shower gel, toilet roll, kitchen products provided on arrival -Iron, hairdryer, hoover - Carbon monoxide alarm Bollington is located 18 miles south east of Manchester and has good motorway, rail and airport links near the town -Macclesfield is 10 mins away by car, or there is a bus stop at the end of the road with buses every 30 mins (takes 20 mins) -Bollington is close to major motorways networks, just a 35 minute drive South West to the M6 via junction 17 and similar distance heading North to the M60 -Manchester Airport is just a 25 minute drive away Please note: The green holds a makers market every few months on a Sunday.. Parking may be an issue on these dates due to the location of the cottage. The upcoming market dates on the green are as follows: 14th October 2019 (Sunday) 8th December 2019 (Sunday) Apart from parking, this is such a lovely artisan market to browse around. If staying at the cottage at this time I would really recommend you have a little nosy Entire cottage and communal green Safety key for self check in/out Bollington and surrounding areas: Walks - Lots of footpaths in the surrounding area leading into the Peak District with lovely views of Cheshire. White Nancy - For walkers there is the popular White Nancy tourist attraction just a stone throw away at the top of Kerridge hill, a bell shaped structure which was built to commemorate the battle of Waterloo in 1815. This can also be seen from the green if walking isn’t your thing. A very popular trek with walkers who visit the area. White Nancy provides a focus on the ridge of Kerridge Hill and from it there are extensive views across the Cheshire plain towards the mountains of North Wales to the west, the hills of Shropshire to the south and the Pennines to the north and east. White Nancy and the Kerridge ridge are part of the Gritstone Trail. Gritstone Trail, or Cheshire Gritstone Trail - A 56-kilometre long-distance footpath in England which follows the most westerly hills of the Peak District from Disley Station to Mow Cop, and on via the Macclesfield Canal to Kidsgrove Station. Bollington Wharf - Perfect day out.. Bikes available and canal boat hire at Macclesfield canal. Course/Fly Fishing available with permits available from Bollington/Macclesfield Bollington Recreation Ground - 8 acre, green flag status park, with facilities for bowls, football, cricket, and tennis courts. Clarence and Adelphi Mills - picnics, boat trips, café, shops, Bollington Discovery Centre, Macclesfield Forest & Leather’s Smithy pub - A beautiful forest with walks, fishing, reservoirs, the peak districts largest Heronry, red deer and award winning real ale and homemade grub pub.. A perfect day out walking around the Forrest, finishing off with a well deserved tipple in the Leather’s Smithy. Some great walks for experienced trekkers and some easier walks for the less adventuress. Tegg’s Nose Country Park - Walks, cycling, fishing and rock climbing. Lyme Park - National Trust house, gardens and deer park Chatsworth House - Country manor house with surrounding gardens. As feautred in the film adaptation of Pride and Prejudice. Stanage Edge - (50 mins drive) A large gritstone edge with beautiful views of the surrounding moors and countryside. Featured in the film version of Pride and Prejudice Allocated parking space/off road parking for one car. Plus free roadside parking directly outside the cottage Please treat the cottage with respect and courtesy and do not do anything that you would not typically do in your own home. Please be considerate to the neighbours.. No loud music or loud behavior that could disturb them. Strictly no smoking.
