Awel y Mor is a lovely beach house situated in Tywyn where the mountains meet the sea on the edge of the Snowdonia National Park, perfect for all to enjoy a relaxing holiday or activity break. Spectacular sea views and glorious sunsets can be enjoyed from the first floor balcony or garden patio while dolphins can sometimes be seen swimming and at play. The sandy beach is a few steps away across the pedestrian promenade, ideal for swimming, surfing, fishing or just watching the waves. The house is upside down with the bedrooms and bathroom downstairs and the sitting/dining area and kitchen upstairs to take full advantage of the glorious views. The kitchen is fully equipped with washing machine, microwave, toaster, etc and has a view of the mountains. The main bedroom has a double bed while the bunk room has 1 full size double and 1 single bed. Guests have the whole house to themselves. I live in Herefordshire but have a very good team, Clare and Su, who are on hand at any time to deal with any issues that might arise. There is plenty to do in the area... Walk along the sandy beach to Aberdyfi and go crabbing from the pier, then take the train back to Tywyn. Explore the Dysynni Valley where miles of footpaths take you to spectacular viewpoints. Climb Cader Idris and with luck you could see the Lakeland Fells. Take the Tallyllyn narrow gauge steam railway up in to the mountains to Abergynolgwyn and walk to the spectacular Dolgoch Falls or just enjoy the ride there and back. This little train inspired the Thomas the Tank Engine stories. Go surfing or fishing when the tides are right or just potter along the beach and watch the waves. The town of Tywyn is within walking distance and has many facilities: Supermarkets, newsagents, Post Office etc Several pubs, cafes and restaurants Leisure centre with indoor swimming pool Putting green and children's playground Independent cinema showing a wide variety of films Tywyn is on the main Cambrian coast British Rail line and is perfect for exploring the area by train, north along the coasr to Barmouth, Harlech and the Italianate village of Portmeirion or south to Machynlleth, the home of the Centre for Alternative Technology or even Aberystwyth. The Tallyllyn narrow gauge steam railway begins its journey into the Snowdonia National Park from here. Visit Dolgoch Falls or the old slate mining village of Abergynolwyn or just enjoy a ride on a steam train! Parking is off road in front of the house. Change over days are Saturdays. In the low season( November to March) short breaks are available, minimum 2 nights. Check in time is 4pm, check out 10am unless otherwise arranged.
