Stylish, comfy, modern ground floor apartment for 2-4 people in a wisteria- & vine-covered house on the edge of the village of Niederkirchen, 2km from the historic centre of Deidesheim. Completely renovated 2020. Spacious, quiet & cool in summer, the apartment has a bedroom with king bed and ensuite bathroom. The large living room, with open-plan kitchen & dining area, includes a comfortable bedsofa for children/adults with half-bath off lobby. No smoking or pets are allowed on the premises. The apartment area is 54m2, plus lobby, guest toilet and courtyard, where a table and chairs allow guests to sit outside. The apartment was completely renovated using anti-allergenic materials in the spring/summer of 2020. The bedroom offers a comfortable box-spring-type bed, bedside drawer units with lamps, a chest of drawers and a wardrobe. Bed linen and hangers are provided. The ensuite bathroom has twin washbasins, toilet, bidet and walk-in shower, heated towel rack and large mirror. Towels, bathrobes and a hairdryer are provided. The fitted kitchen has a ceramic hob, extractor fan, microwave, dishwasher, sink, cupboards, fridge, toaster, pots & pans, silverware, crockery, utensils and breakfast basics. A large table, bench and chairs offer seating for up to 8 people. Local wines are available at cost. The living room has free WiFi & TV, DVD player, games, books, (bed)sofa, coffee table and cupboards. All rooms have curtains and electric roller-shutters, and are centrally heated. Smoke & CO detectors, fire extinguishers and first-aid kit are provided along with a vacuum-cleaner. A separate guest toilet in the lobby may be used by guests along with a wardrobe and boot rack. A washing machine can be used on request, ironing board & steam iron are provided. Garaging is available for bicycles / motorcycles, car parking in the street. Walkers, cyclists and motorcyclists are very welcome. The entrance to the house is up 9 steps, so unfortunately not suitable for wheelchair access. In the village: Vineyards within 100 metres, vintner even closer, several restaurants, baker and butcher within walking distance. The village wine festival takes place the last weekend in June. In the vicinity: Farm shop with local produce 2km away in Meckenheim. Historic Deidesheim 2km, Forst 2,5km, Wachenheim 5km, Bad Dürkheim 8km, Neustadt 11km, Speyer 25km. Bicycling routes Kaiser-Konrad-Weg and Kraut&Rüben-Weg pass through the village. Mary and I are available any time to answer questions, give advice, etc. We live in the two upper stories of the house. Niederkirchen is a quiet village offering peace and the good things in life just a short distance from the busier tourist hotspots along the Weinstrasse. Numerous vintners and distillers and the local Winzerverein offer high-quality wines and spirits. Our local butchers are very good, offering local meat whenever available. One bakery specializes in sourdough breads, the other offers tasty, homemade cakes every Friday. Buses to Deidesheim or Ludwigshafen a few times a day. Train services are available from Deidesheim station. By prior arrangement guests can be picked up from local train stations (Bad Dürkheim, Neustadt, Deidesheim). Taxi services to other destinations are available. Cycle paths abound in the region. Motorcyclists will enjoy exploring the wonderful roads of the Pfälzerwald and adjoining regions. Walkers are close to the amazing network of well-marked paths that the Pfälzerwald-Verein are so famous for. Eateries catering to hungry and thirsty walkers/cyclists are to be found at well-spaced intervals throughout the woods and all along the Weinstrasse (wine road).
