Todsworthy Farm Holidays, The Hayloft
We provide you with a choice between two superb 18th century self catering holiday cottages ideally situated as part of a traditional family farm, but in a location where you enjoy unrivalled comfort and tranquillity. Each cottage is Disabled Friendly providing M2 and M3 Mobility Access (NAS rated) when needed. You can rent both cottages together for larger groups. No need to leave your family pet at home as both our cottages are Dog Friendly and there are also plenty of country walks at ‘walkies’ time. Your stay will be in the officially designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB), The Tamar Valley. Just east of Tavistock you will find the wild and varied landscape of Dartmoor National Park. On the other hand a short drive West takes you to scenic Kit Hill and Bodmin Moor, home of The Beast of Bodmin Moor! The Hayloft Holiday Cottage is accessed by an entrance hall leading to a superbly equipped large kitchen, dining and lounge area. As you would expect, there is WiFi broadband internet access, along with TV, DVD player and HiFi. The entrance hall also leads to a spacious double bedroom with new profiling beds, wall mounted TV, fitted wardrobe and en suite access to a fully equipped wet floor shower area. There is also access to the shower area from the entrance hall. Upstairs you will find two double bedrooms, both with an en suite bathroom, TV, seating and a fitted wardrobe. Ample parking along with barbecue, picnic table with seating for up to six guests is provided in the courtyard area. - Well equipped cottage with all the mod cons including dishwasher and fridge freezer & washing machine - Includes bed linen and towels - New profiling bed that can be made up as a double or twin beds - Dog friendly holiday cottage - Free WiFi broadband internet connection - Welcome cream tea on arrival The Hayloft meets the highest M3 NAS access grading. Level access is provided throughout the ground floor to living areas, shower areas and bedrooms. There is a smooth wide path at the front of the cottages and surrounding areas leading to the front doors. Door ways are all level access and 820mm wide with low level door handles. All light switches and sockets are at a suitable level. All the ground floor rooms are spacious and easy to move around. Kitchen - Sinks and ovens are at accessible heights with spaces for a wheelchair to roll under. Dining tables are easy to access from a wheelchair. Lounge furniture is not too low and can be raised up if necessary. Bedrooms - Beds can be made up either as doubles or twin beds. They are all 550mm high and can be raised if necessary. The ground floor bedroom has two single electric profiling beds. There is space under the bed for a hoist. The ground floor wet room has a roll-in shower and grab rails. There are two different height raised toilet seats available. There is a fold down seat in the shower. Vanity basins have spaces under them for wheelchairs with a shelf area. The transfer space to the toilet is limited to 78cm in the Hayloft because of the fold down shower seat. Access to the first floor is by a flight of stairs with a landing in between. We have a mobile hoist, shower chair, bed wedges (a safe form of cot sides), large foam back supports, zimmer frames, wheelchairs and raised toilet seats all available for hire. There is usually just a charge of £20 for a week for hire of any equipment. No Gunnislake-A Small town with a selection of shops, Railway station,( a very scenic branch line journey into Plymouth). Tamar Trails cycle paths with Zip wires and Tree surfing. Tavistock - this historic town is situated on the picturesque River Tavy, is the birthplace of Sir Francis Drake and is only a short drive from Todsworthy with a wide range of unique and interesting shops, leisure centre, theatre, riverside park and restaurants. Dartmoor National Park -a little further East takes you to the wild and rugged landscapes of Dartmoor National Park. See Dartmoor ponies, and nature at every turn, Dartmoor villages, castles, culture, local tradition and lots more. Settle down at a Dartmoor pub, or find an idyllic spot to enjoy a picnic of your favourite food taking in the spectacular scenery. Plymouth - south from Tavistock you'll find the historic maritime city of Plymouth which has been the focal point of world maritime exploration for many hundreds of years. Visit the National Marine Aquarium, take a river cruise, or visit historic houses and gardens. Further West - a little further afield you will find The Eden Project and The Lost Gardens of Heligan and the city of Truro with its wonderful shopping, Cathedral and places to eat. Cornwall is blessed with a wonderful selection of restaurants and food producers throughout the county. Cornwall’s Coast - the beautiful beaches and cliffs of the North and South coast, The Lizard, Lands End and St Michaels Mount. National Trust - 35 locations in Devon and a further 21 locations in Cornwall. The nearest being Cotehele, a classic Tudor house and gardens just a couple of miles away.
