The extraordinary 2-storey vacation home “Ferienhaus St. Michael” is situated in a former church in Schienen, a village near Öhningen, and is both close to the Swiss border and the shores of Lake Constance. The 70 m² home consists of a living room with a dining area and a tiled stove, a well-equipped kitchen, 2 bedrooms as well as one bathroom and can therefore accommodate 4 people. Additional amenities include Wi-Fi, a washing machine, satellite television and a highchair. Converted into a vacation home almost 200 years ago, the historical building still contains a chapel meditation room. Its location at the top of a hill comes with great panoramic views. The beautiful outdoor area with lots of greenery and vines boasts a private open terrace, where you can have breakfast, relax or spend the evenings with tasty meals from the barbecue. There is also a little herb garden, which is shared with the homeowners. From the apartment, a bus stop is a 3-minute walk (300) away, and a restaurant is a 4-minute walk (300 m) away. After a 5-minute drive or 4 km to Öhningen, you will find supermarkets and bakeries, as well as the nearest beach. There you can swim in the clear blue water, surrounded by a lovely lake and mountain panorama. In Wangen, a 9-minute drive (5.5 km) from the apartment, you will also find a pharmacy and a pretty beach area. The hilly area close to the Schiener Berg (Schiener mountain) and the Klingenbachschlucht (a ravine) is perfect for all kinds of outdoor activities, such as hiking or cycling, and there are many routes starting basically at your front door. The charming lakeside town of Radolfzell is located a 20-minute drive (15 km) away, the World Heritage Site Reichenau Island is a 45-minute drive (42 km) from Öhningen, and you can drive to Konstanz, famous for its picturesque old town centre, in 40 minutes (38 km).
