Table House offers luxury accommodation on a beautiful ocean front farm just out of Wynyard in North West Tasmania. With grand spaces inside and out it was designed especially to accommodate couples or families gathering together for special occasions. Enjoy magnificent views from every room, four king bedrooms with en-suites, a 360 panorama from the tower and exclusive access to a beautiful beach. Revel in stunning sunrises and sunsets, trillions of stars and in spring nearby fields of tulips. More like a boutique hotel than a house, there is a magnificent sense of space with huge living and dining areas, an internal open-air courtyard and a cocktail lounge in the tower (the perfect retreat for ‘happy hour’ sunsets). There are four separate bedroom and bathroom wings, each with king sized beds, one of which can be converted into two single beds. (Enquire about extra beds for children.) The chef’s kitchen is stocked with essentials and you're welcome to use the fresh seasonal produce from the kitchen garden. Or if you prefer to be pampered, we can arrange a local chef to cook for you. Dine in front of a roaring fire or under the trillions of stars in the courtyard. Other comforts include a fully equipped laundry, two powder rooms, library, good heating, Netflix, DVD, integrated sound system including connection to play music from your device, and free Wi-Fi. The climate in North West Tasmania is generally milder than in other parts of Tasmania. It can be wild and wuthering at times (the tower is a perfect spot to watch storms rolling in from the ocean), but on other days it is a place of absolute serenity. The house is double glazed with central heating, so it’s very warm even in the depths of winter. During the day pack a picnic and your fishing rods and head down to our beautiful beach. (We don't own it but have exclusive access through our property - unless you come by boat.) Check the tides. It's best at low tide or when the tide is receding. We've spent many glorious days down there with our children fishing off the rocks, playing cricket and swimming. (Beware of the occasional rip when the sea is rough and choppy.) The beach is a bit of a hike from the house. It's an easy walk down, but a steep hill back up. If you have a four-wheel drive vehicle you can drive most of the way - but entirely at your own risk. Explore the farm with Bass Strait views from every paddock. Then return to a fun game of croquet - especially enjoyable in the long twilight evenings in summer - or play Klop, a highly addictive log tossing game suitable for all ages. Or just relax indoors by the fire listening to music, watching DVDs or Netflix, playing board games or cards, doing jigsaws. We, the owners, live in a small cabin on the property so we are available to assist with advice about local attractions, restaurants and things to do.. We will greet you on arrival and show you around then keep right out of your way so your privacy is assured. As it's a working farm you may occasionally see us about during the day but we would never invade your space. Table House Farm is situated on the iconic Table Cape which features in most coffee table books and tourism brochures on Tasmania. In springtime especially, the spectacular Table Cape Tulip Farm is a mecca for tourists and photographers. There are lots of places to explore and great day trips to do from Table Cape. Go with a local guide and watch fairy penguins come in from the sea at sunset. Boat Harbour Beach (voted one of the top 10 beaches in Australia by Australian Geographic 2017) is less than 15 minutes away; the long, white, pristine Sisters Beach with a lovely lagoon for children ( 20 minutes); spectacular Dip Falls (40 minutes); Historic Stanley, the charming old fishing village which featured in the film “Light Between Oceans” (45 minutes). From there walk or take the chairlift up on to The Nut and do the awesome 40 minute walk around the top; Wings Wildlife Park with lots of Tasmanian native animals is a favourite for children (1 ¼ hours); Emu Valley Rhododendron Garden (35 minutes); Barringwood Vineyard and Cellar Door Cafe (1 ¼ hours); and Cradle Mountain, one of Tasmania’s most famous tourist attractions is an easy day trip if you get started early (less than 2 hours). If you are into hiking, there’s a great walk from Sisters Beach, over the Sisters Hills to Anniversary Bay (perhaps 1 ½ hours return), only accessible on foot or by boat. There’s the Makers Workshop Gallery with works of local creative artists (25 minutes) and the Burnie Art Gallery (30 minutes). The Hellyer Whisky Factory (40 minutes) is worth a visit and a nice place for lunch too. The Burnie/Wynyard airport, and the thriving little town of Wynyard where you can purchase supplies, are 5 minutes away. You will need a car. For the months of August and September 2020 we have a special offer - stay 4 nights and get a 5th night free. Send an inquiry to us so we can authorise this special offer.
