I Palazzi Arte B&B: suite room in ancient tower

The Suite is a spacious room in a family run B&B, located in a 13th century building with watch tower. The property is surrounded by olive trees and vineyards, with a peaceful garden and plenty of artworks, as it is home of a sculptor. On the border between Tuscany and Umbria, at a few km from Cortona and Montepulciano and close to lake Trasimeno, it is easily connected to the best itineraries of this wonderful part of Italy: Siena, Arezzo, Valdorcia, Pienza, Montalcino, Assisi, Orvieto The family run B&B has 4 double rooms available for the guests. The oldest part of the house is from the Middle Age and it is known that Santa Margherita, the patron saint of Cortona, lived here in the XIII century. The little chapel is still a holy place. The owner is a sculptor and you can see his artwork everywhere in the house. The property is surrounded by the most enchanting Tuscan landscape, with olive groves and vineyards, just a short drive from the beautiful towns of Cortona, Montepulciano and lake Trasimeno. A small village is just one km away, with a convenience store and a bar. The suite room is a large bedroom with a view, a corridor and a spacious and bright bathroom with bathtub. The family will be pleased to show you the amazing view from the tower and will help you to book the typical trattoria or find the small local producer where to buy Vino Nobile di Montepulciano or the best pecorino cheese. Italian breakfast included in the room rate. Cortesy coffee and tea facilities. Use of the refrigerator. Extra services on request: daily cleaning, Traditional Tuscan breakfast with local products, dinner on the tower , aperitifs with sparkling wine "just for two" on the tower (honeymoon special). Cooking lesson followed by dinner can be booked in a nearby agriturismo. The B&B is located in the family house, but with a private entrance and separate from the owners' apartment. The 4 rooms for the guests, all with en suite bathrooms, are on the first floor , and share a sitting room with art books and literature about the territory. Free wifi. On the ground floor, the breakfast room (Italian breakfast included in the room rate) with coffee and tea facilities and a refrigerator that the guests can use, a large hall with a piano and a peaceful garden for the guests to sit and relax with tables and chairs to have breakfast outside, swimming pool. A painting corner is available for the guests. The family lives in the house and is available to give you information about the area, suggesting the best itineraries and excursions, and ready to help you booking restaurants, wine tastings, cooking classes or any other activities. Massimo is a sculptor and you can see him working in his workshop and possibly also carve a piece of olive wood together A painting corner, books and literature about the territory are also available for the guests. Informal cooking lesson followed by dinner can be booked in a nearby farm. This is a very strategic location, exactly halfway between Cortona and Montepulciano, at a short drive from lake Trasimeno. Very easy to reach (18 km from A1 Rome -Florence motorway, Valdichiana exit) can be a perfect starting point for daily excursions as well as a relaxing stop when driving between Rome and Florence. At one km a small village with a convenience store, at 2 km a good trattoria and an agriturismo for farm dinners. A car is needed to explore the surroundings. You can rent a bicycle or a vintage Vespa for daily excursions. Please ask if you want us to arrange for it.
