No neighbours, set in the heart of it's own 6 acres of land, Midfields is a haven for wild life, peaceful, with only the sound at night of the Tawny Owls, hooting! We have lived here for 39 years and made Midfields into a comfortable Country home , which we will enjoy sharing with you. We are within 1 mile walking distance of Village Pubs, Shops and amenities. This is an upstairs flat exclusive to guests. You will find a lovely well equipped kitchen/dining room for you own catering although there are several local pubs and restaurants which you may like to visit after a days hiking over the nearby moors. The bedroom has an en-suite with bath and separate shower, wardrobe and drawers for your use. The living room, which can also double as a bedroom with sofa bed has it's own adjoining shower, toilet and basin , it is furnished with comfortable sofa and chairs for relaxing in with TV and electric fire. All the rooms have wonderful views over the property and beyond. We welcome one dog which you can exercise in one of our paddocks, we know how important our dog's are to the family and feel sure they would love the walks on the moor, also the beach as we are about 45 minutes from the coast. The extensive gardens can be enjoyed by our guests . Your apartment is for your use only and access to it is through a communal front door and Conservatory. As we live on the premise's we are usually around all day to help with any enquiries . We can suggest walks, book meals in local pubs, restaurants if your mobile signal is weak and generally be on hand for any questions. Moretonhampstead is a friendly Moorland Town, only one mile walk or drive from the house, it offers a wide range of facilities. We have an excellent Coop, local Butchers, Post Office, Information Centre, Italian Restaurant, Good Pubs, Tea Rooms , Art Gallery, Motor Museum, Pottery's, Sports Centre and Miniature Pony Centre. Health Centre and Chemist. A Golf Course at Bovey Castle Hotel, North Bovey, five minutes drive from Midfields. We are close to the cycle path from which you can cycle to Bovey Tracy and the Two Moors Way offering fantastic walks. We are about 45 minutes from the coast if you fancy a day at the beach. There is a vets surgery in Moretonhampstead should you need one. We are close to some lovely villages and towns such as Chagford which is a unique Stannery Town. We are only half a mile away from the beautiful North Bovey with it's thatched Inn over looking the Village Green at the heart of the village where you can relax over a drink and meal. There is a daily Bus service to Exeter, not on Sundays. We are half an hours drive from Exeter City, Newton Abbot and Okehampton. The closest petrol station is twenty minutes drive away, I suggest you arrive with enough fuel to get to get you to a Station , there is no Petrol Station in Moretonnhampstead. There is a garage that does repairs only.There is two fee paying Car parks in the town and free in the winter and after 6 p.m in Summer. An interesting Moorland Town called Chagford, for Shopping and site seeing is only fifteen minutes drive from Midfields. Walking is on Dartmoor itself, foot paths and lanes through pretty villages. Extra cost for Dogs to be paid for through the Resolution Centre at £10 per night.
