The Hide-a-way (Cabin 2) Newly Renovated!

This is a tiny retreat for one or two guests. There is a fireplace facing the twin day bed. There is a screened in kitchenette. No shower facilities...but ask about availability of other cabins to possibly schedule time for use. This cabin is also a perfect add-on to those who need a little more space for additional guests when renting cabin 1 or 3! Winter rental details: We reduce our rates for the for the winter months because it's a great stay, for those who like winter camping in comfort! This is a "still in the process" tiny cabin that really feels like a retreat from the world. There is no indoor shower but if you are a hardy soul who enjoys off the grid living... with a little luxury...a bird bath does the job. The "bathroom" is a very clean, cedar outhouse next to the cabin with a stained glass window. This is an experience that is perfect for some...and not for others. Read description thoroughly and ask questions if needed. Adventure and seclusion await! This cabin heats up beautifully with the fireplace and is so snuggly...but shoveling a little snow and lugging a few armfulls of wood might be part of this woodland experience...oh...but if you are up for it...what an experience! Feel free to borrow a few pair of our snowshoes and explore the woodland area! The cabin space is all yours for your stay! We can be available or completely out of the way...let us know what you need and we will do our best to accomodate! Jackson is a lovely town right on rt 7 with great access to the Bangor Airport and the beautiful coastal town of Belfast with many treasures to explore from there. Many of our guests are on their way to or from visiting Acadia which is about 1 hour 30 min away. Locally the Jackson/Brooks area has beautiful farms and events associated with those locations. It's not far from the famed Lost Kitchen...book well in advance! A golf course...The Hills to Sea trail...and great local food are all close by with seasonal events happening throughout the year. We have a complimentary Keurig and some coffee supplies...but if you like cream and sweetener you may want to bring those with you. There is electricity but no electric fridge...the antique icebox works with 3 or 4 blocks of ice...or with cooler weather the screened porch is great for cooler storage. You would want to plan food accordingly. Ralph's Cafe is a great local restaurant in Brooks (check for hours of service). We have a co-op and a mini grocery store 3 miles away and both are well stocked! You will most likely find everything you need there. If we are available we can get the fire started prior to your arrival upon request. This a fun experience for those needing to find a few days to hide-a-way! In the winter months you need to bring in water for your needs because pipes are exposed and need to be drained for the winter. This cabin heats up beautifully with the fireplace and is so snuggly...but shoveling a little snow and lugging a few armfulls of wood might be part of this woodland experience...oh...but if you are up for it...what an experience!
