Modern, newly renovated guest house in the heart of Kingsbridge. Our old stables have been lovingly converted into a bright cosy space, while still retaining character of the past. Situated just off Fore Street through a quiet alleyway to a tranquil private south facing courtyard garden with private entrance. The perfect location to explore the stunning beaches and wonderful coastal walks of the beautiful South Hams countryside. Walkable to all amenities, restaurants, pubs and the estuary. Please note we are currently offering a full refund if you are unable to stay due to COVID restrictions. The Space - Our cosy, quirky detached guest house has everything a couple, friends or small family would need for a relaxing stay. The open plan living and kitchenette is a perfect space to cook and relax. The kitchen is equipped with kettle, toaster, microwave, hob, small oven, pans and utensils to cook. The sofa converts as a small double bed for extra guests. There is WiFi, a smart T.V and a few games provided. The bathroom has a large new shower and towels. The separate double bedroom with cosy duvet has high ceilings and feature stone wall. It has enough room to fit a travel cot (available on request). There is a chest of draws and hangers. Just outside is a private sunny courtyard with seating to relax. Due to the size of the property we only allow a maximum of 3 guests (2 adults and one child under 16). Use of entire guest house which is tucked just off Kingsbridge high street through an alley and opposite our family bungalow. You have private entrance through own fenced courtyard garden and own key in key safe. Interaction with guests - We live just opposite so will be on hand if required for any help or advice. However we will also be very respectful of your own space and will not intrude on your holiday unless contacted. There is a safe key box so you can come and go as you please. We have provided an informative guest welcome manual with all the lovely places to visit and our favourite beaches. We very much look forward to welcoming you and sharing what the amazing South Hams has to offer. Overview Kingsbridge is a friendly market town. Every other Saturday is the Farmers Market near the pretty estuary and every Wednesday is the local market produce in the Kings Cinema. There are lovely bakeries, coffee shops, cafes and restaurants to enjoy, all in walking distance from your guest house. Nearest amenities Supermarket - Tescos and Morrisons are less than 10 mins walking distance and a newsagent just a few shops up the road opens until late. Local produce - All on the high street are 3 yummy Bakeries, Alans apples is a local green groceries, 2 butchers and a great fish mongers. ATM & Banks- Just a few mins walk on high street. Activities South Hams is an incredible beautiful place, it is a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. With so many things to do and places to explore, It will be hard to choose between, coastal walks, trekking, surfing, paddle boarding, kayaking, sailing, horse riding, shopping and beach combing. It is also a fantastic place to just completely relax, unwind and kick back. There are beautiful estuaries for boating, paddle boarding and kayaking (we can help arrange hire). We are only 10 mins drive to Bantham the best surf beach in South Hams, 15 min drive to the beautiful Salcombe town and its beaches and to the pretty Hope cove, to name a few of the wonderful beaches to visit. South hams has an action packed calendar for the year of local events, from food and music festivals, regattas, art trails and many more. Kingsbridge is a perfect base to explore. Having a car provides you with the easiest way to explore the stunning beaches and coastlines. But links from Kingsbridge by buses, taxis and trains from Totnes are also available. Parking- Parking is close by on the high street, max for 1 hour during the day, free overnight and free all day Sunday. Just a short walk away are long stay pay and display car parks currently £2.00 for whole day and night. You can also purchase a weekly ticket from tourist information that enables you to park in various council carparks. Buses - Kingsbridge bus station is a few mins walk and has buses to all nearby towns such as Dartmouth, Totnes and Salcombe. Boats/water sports - With the estuary right on your doorstep you can catch a ferry to Salcombe (tide dependent and in peak season) or paddle board or kayak yourself along the river.
