Farmers' Lodge - Stay at our family farm!

Welcome on our authentic Swiss farm!Situated in a rural, quiet area in the Canton of Fribourg, it’s a real treat and the perfect port for your family and holiday vacation, or for a work stay. Built in 1835 by our ancestors, families have been taken care of and preserved the farm for now almost two centuries, handing it over to the following generations. The farm is close to the cities of Berne and Fribourg (20km) as well as several tourist attractions and the mountains. COVID-19 UPDATE: We want that our guests feel safe. We offer a self check-in procedure and a separate door entry, exclusively reserved for our guests. Further, there is a desk in the Lodge with fast and free WiFi. Nespresso coffee machine. Free WiFi. Floor heating. Private balcony. Ideally suited for: - Business travellers who need a quiet stay after busy days in the city - Sportsmen crossing the region - day-trippers - nature-lovers - families and everyone else! private for our guests: - entire apartment - balcony shared: - terrace and grill - summerhouse (equipped with dining table, tableware, coffee machine) Usually, one of us is home or on the farm. We will do our best to welcome you personally! If not possible, a self-checkin is easy and straightforward. You as a guest decide the degree of interaction with us. We live in a rural neighbourhood. Nevertheless, we are close to several tourist destinations: - City of Berne (UNESCO) and City of Fribourg (20 minutes) - 1h to Interlaken (Jungfraujoch) and 1h20 to Grindelwald - 1.5h to Lucerne - 1h to Kandersteg (Oeschinensee, Blausee) - Lake Morat and region - Prealps of the Canton of Fribourg and Gantrisch, Black lake region - Gruyère region (30min) with its famous chocolate factory "Cailler" - 45 mins to Lausanne - 1.5h to Geneva - Take a bath in the beautiful river "Sense" (5min away), the most natural river in the Alps according to the WWF, or take a swim in the "Aare" in Berne (20 minutes), Lake Schiffenen (15min), Lake Morat (30min) or Black Lake (30min). We can give you recommendations for all those places and many more - just let us know what you are looking for! And don’t forget to take a walk around the neighbourhood in the fresh air! Public transportation: attention required - the closest railway station is about 20 minutes by foot. There is no bus that brings you closer to the farm. Every half an hour, you have access to trains in both directions, Bern and Fribourg (both train rides approx. 15 minutes). This is a rural neighbourhood. Closest grocery shopping stores are about 20 minutes by foot. Private transportation/car: From the autobahn A12, take exit “Flamatt”. Our farm is 5 minutes away. You can park your car at our farm for free. Travel time to Fribourg and Bern by car both approx. 20 minutes. Morat or Murten is about 30 minutes away. Prealps and tourist resort “Schwarzsee” about 30 minutes, too. Gruyère 35min, Interlaken 1h, Lucerne 1.5h. Grocery shopping, ATM and fuel stations both right at the exit „Flamatt“, which is 5min by car. The farm is located in a rural neighbourhood. We are active farmers. Depending on the season, the weather, and the time of the day, more or less work might be going on around or on the farm. You can expect an authentic lifestyle, warm people, and a spacious, clean and functional apartment (rather than luxury). Be prepared for country life :-)
