A bright airy annexe in a quiet rural setting with views of the countryside and the river Tay. The accommodation comprises one double bedroom, an open plan kitchen/dining/living room and shower room. There is also a private enclosed outdoor area and a shared drive for parking. We are only minutes from Monifieth with it's shops, pubs, restaurants, golf courses and beach with public transport/cycle path giving easy access to Carnoustie, Broughty Ferry and Dundee. The annexe is ideal for couples or families with young children. Guests have sole use of an enclosed outdoor area with seating and barbeque. We live next door so are on hand to answer any questions or deal with any problems. You are welcome to text or pop round anytime otherwise we will leave you in peace to enjoy your break. We love the country views and the peace and quiet at Mains of Ardestie whilst having the convenience of everything we need in Monifieth just minutes away. There are lovely walks (cycle routes) on the doorstep Along the beach, the coastal path takes you from Monifieth through the picturesque town of Broughty Ferry with it's many small independent shops, cafes, pubs and restaurants ( the wee castle is worth a visit too). The path continues along the tay to Dundee for the more energetic. Around Monikie country park, with its woodland, picnic/bbq area, playparks, watersports, and fishing and Crombie country park with it's woodland trails, playpark, orienteering and picnic/bbq areas. For the serious hillwalkers the Angus Glens are hard to beat (around an hour's drive away) We have amazing golf courses in the area Monifieth links Carnoustie Panmure Carnoustie Burnside and the famous Carnoustie Championship golf course St. Andrew's has seven golf courses including the world famous Old Course (40 minutes drive) Gleneagles golf courses, again world famous (50 minutes) Monifieth has regular buses and trains into Dundee where the must see attractions include the V&A, the Discovery ship, Verdant works, The Vaults, The McManus galleries and the views from the Law. The area is rich in history, Carlungie and Ardestie Earth houses and Law Fort just minutes away, Arbroath Abbey and Castles, (including Broughty Ferry, Claypotts, Glamis, Dunnotar, St Andrews and Edinburgh to name but a few) are all within easy reach. A car is recommended to make the most of the area. We do have Wi-Fi but it can be slow and therefore not very reliable. Pets ( 2 maximum )
