Mountain cottage, spectacular views
Cosy and basic mountain cottage. Three bedrooms plus separate rear cabin. Can sleep up to 10 overall, but better suited for up to 6; 1 double bed and 2 bunks in house and rear cabin has additional bunk beds for 4 people. Fireplace, external toilet/bathroom with a deep bath. Important note: bathroom and toilet are joined to the house but access is external. All amenities are in original condition but fully functional and cottage is well equipped with everything you will need for a great stay. Rustic old mountain cottage, full of history and character. The house is old and a bit quirky, but very cosy. A great place to retreat from the busyness of Sydney, with fantastic valley and cliff views from the house and large front yard. Blue Mountains bushwalks right from the front gate. The house is small but sleeps 6, and there is an additional cabin at the rear with comfortable bedding for another 4 people. Note that the living and dining areas are small and therefore better suited for smaller groups, so for larger groups use of the outdoor areas and facilities (outside dining table, seating and bbq) is the best option. If 5 star luxury is your thing, this is not the house for you. If, however, you're looking for a really unique mountain experience for friends or family in a cosy cottage with awesome views, the nook is a great option to consider. Guests are welcome to use everything at the house, including an extensive CD collection, fireplace with firewood supplied, lots of toys and indoor/outdoor games for kids. Note that bed quilts are supplied but guests need to provide their own linen (bottom and top sheets, pillow cases, towels etc) and also other basic items for the stay (soap, toilet paper and matches/firelighters etc). We are very happy to provide information and support to guests as needed. We live approximately 1.5 hours away from the cottage in Sydney, and are available for any issues or support needed throughout the stay. Fantastic Australian wildlife, including kangaroos, wombats, cockatoos and many other animals nearby. Stunning scenery, and very close to all the wonderful attractions of the Blue Mountains. Great walks and rockclimbing literally from the front gate. Blackheath train station and village is approx 3 mins drive or 15 minutes walk from the house. Great shops, cafes and restaurants in the village. Off street parking available at the house. The house is over 100 years old and is full of character and history. It's a wonderful place to escape, especially for families. Note that bed quilts are provided, but guests need to bring their own linen, sheets and towels etc. The house does not have TV or internet........enjoy the serenity!
