Rivendell Holiday Cottage ~ Wheelchair Accessible

Rivendell Holiday Cottage, located just outside Stanthorpe in the high country of Eukey, is a secluded haven surrounded by glorious landscapes, wonderful views, and an abundance of wildlife. Situated on a rural property, it offers privacy and seclusion while being close to Girraween National Park and just minutes away from wineries, cafes, a chocolate shop, and tavern. Explore all the Granite Belt has to offer or simply escape the hustle and bustle and enjoy the simple pleasures: Watch the wildlife from the front verandah or the back BBQ/patio area; light an outdoor fire (wood provided) and toast marshmallows; gaze at the canopy of stars away from city lights; or simply kick back with a good book, a great wine and some excellent cheese. The cottage is very roomy with two bedrooms, large bathroom, open space living / kitchen / dining area, together with another separate toilet and laundry. One bedroom has a queen bed, the other a double and a single, and every widow boasts bush views. In winter, central heating keeps everyone warm and toasty. An acre of grass gives space for children to run, ride or play. There is a set ‘Treasure Hunt’ down a bush track and the cottage has a cricket and badminton set as well as games, puzzles, and DVDs for the quieter times. Depending on the season there may be some young animals to feed. The main house is 200 metres away from the cottage so we are always available if required. It's an easy ten-minute drive to Girraween National Park for a BBQ or picnic, with a variety of walking tracks for different abilities. A Chocolate shop, tavern, many wineries and other attractions are all within a short drive. There are tour buses or luxury vans that can collect you for tours of the Granite Belt region and wineries. Things to note: There is limited mobile phone coverage with one or two providers (almost none with others) and Wi-Fi is not available. The main house is further down the property road, and we are available should you have questions or require assistance. Otherwise, however, we will leave you to yourselves. Disability Access: The cottage has been purpose-built to accommodate people with disability. Large rooms, sliding doors, lowered light switches, raised power points, and a full wet-area shower with a low vanity basin are just some of the wheelchair-friendly attributes. There is an extra toilet in the laundry for those occasions when the disabled toilet is tied up; at the rear, the carport slab has been extended to facilitate the use of a hoist; and the kitchen sink has fold-back doors to allow wheelchair access.
