La Petite Garenne - stylish gite near the chateau
La Petite Garenne is situated in a newly renovated former Pottery barn. It combines modern with rustic to create a uniquely designed relaxing and well-appointed place to stay. Situated along the small D53 just outside Biron, the gite has been carefully created with comfort and style in mind. Outside has plenty of space for evening dining or playing boules with views of the magnificent Chateau de Biron. A great location to relax and enjoy the best that the region has to offer. La Petite Garenne is a stylish and newly renovated 1 bedroomed gite, over 2 floors. Downstairs, the front door opens on to an open plan dining room, beyond which is a fully equipped kitchen (which includes a Nespresso coffee machine, full sized cooker and hob, a dish washer and even a wine fridge). From the dining area a bespoke feature staircase leads to the bedroom with its high wood beamed ceilings and stone walls. The en-suite bathroom has a large shower, a towel radiator and shaver point, as well as a sink and loo too of course. Back downstairs, a small door on the opposite side of the dining area leads past the laundry room (with ironing board and iron, as well as a washing machine and tumble dryer available on request), and then up a second wooden staircase into a comfortable, quiet lounge with views over the surrounding fields. Outside, and to the front of the building is a large garden area with table and chairs. Here there are some wonderful glimpses of the stunning Chateau de Biron. There is plenty of space to park, and also your own private pétanque pitch (boules provided!). We'll be onsite to welcome you when you arrive, and live in the house nearby (within 50m). During your stay, when we're not home, we are always available by phone. Beneath the magnificent chateau you will find the peaceful and beautiful village of Biron, with its medieval architecture and gorgeous views, and just a 5 minute walk from the gite. Here there is the village shop with a small cafe where you can pick up your fresh daily bread and croissants, as well as all the usual supplies and a range of local produce. Please note: bread, croissants etc usually need to be ordered the day before, so if you need anything for the first morning of your stay please let us know and we can order it for you. Biron also has a restaurant, as well as a craft market and evening food market in the summer months (see “Guidebook” for more details). Our local vineyard “Domaine de la Tuque” offers guided tours and tastings, with its delightful range of organic wines that reflect the uniqueness of Biron. To enjoy the local area, you'll really need a car – public transport is not an option here. However, once you’ve arrived there are lots of great cycling routes and walks. Apart from Biron itself, there are a number of stunning bastide villages and other attractions nearby, each of which is worth a visit and within easy reach by car. The property is alongside a small road, which is used by local residents and visitors to the chateau. The internet is usually fine, but sometimes slow and not 100% reliable - especially during bad weather. Please do not rely on it for working, or streaming movies.
