Kyffin Cafe Apartment
The apartment is very close to Bangor city centre and the University. Five minutes walk from the railway station & bus station & three minutes from the university. There is parking for one car. The apartment is good for couples and solo adventurers. This is a great location for exploring Snowdonia and the coast, Bethesda Zip Wire; Bangor Pier; Anglesey, Caernarfon Castle & beaches are a short drive away, and public transport close by. This is a quirky self contained, first floor apartment in a two hundred year old building. Many original features remain - wooden floors, hand made brick walls, exposed timbers. The old plaster, lime mortar lives and breaths so you'll experience a sense of history and possibly some dust and spiders! We clean rigorously between guests, but this building continually produces dust from the materials it is built from! We have a private car park. Access to the apartment is through Kyffin Cafe garden, at the rear of the building, into a private courtyard space for the use of guests at the apartment. A fairly steep external metal staircase leads to the apartment. It is very private and very secure. The apartment is part of my building at 127/129 High Street, which also houses Kyffin cafe and my Clothes shop. There are several bars and pubs nearby. At weekends the street can be quite lively and a little noisy. During working hours 9.30 - 5.30 you may here movement in the cafe and maybe some French Cafe music wafting up from the cafe below. The apartment consists of: Bed sitting room, with king size bed and fireplace with electric stove heater, two armchairs & coffee table. There is a flat screen TV. There is also a table for working from. Dining room with dining table and two chairs. Kitchen with dishwasher, microwave & induction hob, fridge freezer, toaster & kettle. Shower room with toilet & wash basin. You will collect your keys from the key safes on the garden fence (the sfae is illuminated but have a torch handy after dark) and inner door (garden lights will come on when they sense movement) so you can arrive at your convenience after 3pm. Lights will come on in the garden and at the bottom of the metal staircase. There is also a light you can switch on at the top of the staircase. While the cafe is open, feel free to pop in and say hello. If you need any help we are there for you. The apartment is in the Kyffin Square area of the city. This are is named after the Kyffin clan, three Reverends who were associated with the Cathedral as well as Richard Kyffin, Dean of the Cathedral in 1480. There are many bars and restaurants one minute from the door. It is a three minute walk to University and Pontio art center. This downtown area of the City can be noisy at weekends & bank holidays but music must end at midnight. If arriving by train, it is a five minute walk from the station to the apartment. From the bus station, it is a four minute walk past the cathedral to the apartment. If you are arriving by car, we have our own car park. Detailed directions, keysafe code and additional contact numbers will be supplied upon booking or a week before arrival. I work in our Interior Design & Clothes shops so will be in the vicinity of the shops and cafe until 5.30. Any questions do call at the cafe for help between 10 am- 5.30pm. During these hours I don't generally have access to the internet so calling is preferable. After 9.30 am you may hear activity in the kitchen next door to the bed sitting room.
