The Garden Bed & Breakfast is located in the small friendly village of Over Haddon, just 2 miles from the town of Bakewell in the beautiful Peak District National park. We are just 6 miles from Chatsworth House so ideally situated for attending their events. Haddon Hall is 4 miles away. Our Bed & Breakfast overlooks the Lathkill Dale, a lovely nature reserve with walks to both Monyash and Youlgrave. We offer a friendly personal service and aim to make your stay as comfortable as possible. We have TWO lovely ensuite rooms available. THIS LISTING IS FOR ROOM 1 OF 2 ROOMS WHICH ARE AVAILABLE. ROOM 1 is a Super-King room which can also be configured as a Twin Room. Please see our other listing for ROOM 2 which is a King-size room. Both rooms have comfortable Vi-Spring beds, lovely pure cotton bedding and hypoallergenic down quilts. Both have en-suite bathrooms with underfloor heating, complimentary toiletries, bathrobes & fluffy white towels. The bedrooms have Wifi, satellite TV, cool air fans, hair-dryers, beautiful White Company & Laura Ashley furniture. Complimentary beverage trays with a variety of teas, ground coffee and fresh milk. Breakfast is served either overlooking our garden and the beautiful Nature Reserve or on a warm morning you can dine outside, sat on the terrace enjoying the scenery and the many visiting birds to the garden. Mark or myself will be on hand to greet you on arrival. There is an outer door which we will advise you on access and your private bedroom which has a lock on the door for your peace of mind. Breakfast is served privately so you do not share the space with other guests. Karen and Mark will be available to assist you when you arrive and depart. We will assist with any bags and show you your room / rooms. If you require any special arrangements for your stay we will be more than pleased to help / accommodate you if possible. Breakfast is included in the room rate with a choice of cereals, fruits compote, full cooked breakfast etc with vegan / vegetarian options. a wide choice of teas and coffee's along with fruit juices. We will generally be on hand during your stay so if you have any questions or enquiries we will do our utmost to assist you. We very much want you to enjoy your time at The Garden Bed & Breakfast and the lovely surrounding area. We are situated in Over Haddon, a small village in the beautiful Peak National Park, just 2 miles from Bakewell, 4 miles from Haddon Hall and 6 miles from Chatsworth House, this makes us an ideal location to attend events at Chatsworth and if walking or cycling is a favourite past time then we have the Monsal Trail and the Tissington Trail close by. We overlook the Lathkill Nature Reserve with the River Lathkill running through it. Over Haddon has a village pub within walking distance with fantastic views and a selection of Ales , the pub also serves food most days, and the Village Hall has events on most days. There are also two good pubs within a 10 minuet drive, both have very good menu's and accept dogs, the town of Bakewell is a 6 minuet drive away with a wide choice of places to eat and drink. The village takes part in the annual Well Dressing event and was chosen in 2019 and again in 2020 to display at the RHS show at Chatsworth. and visitors are welcome to take part in the making of the well dressing. The beautiful Lathkill Dale is a 5 minute walk down our lane to the river Lathkill. Walks to both Monyash and Youlgrave along the river are popular past times and on a warm evening are magical. We are 2 miles from the town of Bakewell which has a comprehensive bus service. Buxton and Chesterfield Train stations are just 12 miles away with direct services to both Manchester and London. Over Haddon has a bus service 3 times a day to Monyash and Bakewell.The immediate area is a walkers paradise with both relaxing walks along the river or more strenuous walks available and dedicated cycling routes are close by. The area is renowned for it's natural beauty. Our B&B guests have complete private use of our garden where you are welcome to enjoy your tea and cake. We also have two small Scottish terriers Maisie and Eddie who are very much part of the family. They are very friendly and will happily greet you on arrival. They are not allowed in guests rooms but do live in the rest of the house. This breed do not lose hair and are generally a very quiet dog.
