The Farmhouse at Hilltops Brecon

The cottage was originally the centre of a working farm for 200 years until the 1980s and is about 2 miles from the centre of Brecon Town but is set in a tranquil countryside setting. The set of old stone farm buildings are at the end of a private lane away from the road and now consist of three separate holiday cottages together with our own home in the former stables. We are surrounded on all sides by open farmland and countryside. The Farmhouse has been completely refurbished with modern kitchen and bathrooms but still has all the traditional features of a 200 year-old stone farmhouse - including beams and log burner. Upstairs is the King Sized bedroom with wardrobes and en-suite (including double ended bath tub & separate walk in shower). There is also a twin bedroom with two single beds and its own private shower room with WC. Downstairs is a large living room with ample sofas and log burner (although the farmhouse does have central heating in all rooms too). The kitchen has electric oven, hobs, fridge and freezer, dishwasher plus crockery and utensils. There is also a Nespresso Coffee machine. There is a dining table and the Flat Screen TV has Satellite TV channels. Outside is a patio area for your sole use together with table and chairs. Entire private cottage Our home is on-site in the old barn so we are often around to answer questions or close by if you need anything but guests have a totally separate private cottage so we will not disturb you if you want your privacy too. The cottage is part of a small quiet hamlet called Cantref (or Cefn Cantref) about 2 miles up the hill from Brecon town. The old farm buildings and barns comprise three private holiday cottages (including The Farmhouse) and our home. Guests can walk to town either down the road or via a footpath (Walking boots recommended). Brecon town has many pubs, restaurants, cinema, theatre, canal and three rivers. A Car is recommended although you can hike up the hills straight from the cottage. If you walk down the hill into Brecon, a Taxi home from the town centre is usually £6 to £7. We have an EV Charger for electric cars with a Type 2 Connector (7.2KW Mode 3) for £10 per day. Please message us to check availability and to reserve during your stay.
