A wide range of activities are also quickly accessible from the gîtes; a 5 to 20 minutes' drive will get you to the horse (and poney)-riding center, or to places where you can practise gliding & hang-gliding, cliff climbing, speleology, kayak & canooing, tree climbing, or simply go on a walk or cycle around a splendid tract of landscape. If you chance to go further, then you may discover route des Vins de l' Hérault and learn about the production of local olive oil and honey. Cycle or hike up and down the roadsand walkways of the Cévennes, where you will visit the workshops of craftsmen making ceramics, pottery, barrels, glass and metal objects. And on your way, stop at historic sites and buildings of interest.
