The ‘Bohemian Art Studio’
The ‘Bohemian Art Studio' is a working art studio. It is a one bedroom self contained unit with lounge, dining and kitchen facilities. It has its own private deck area with stunning views across Creswick village and the forestry area. Deb uses the space as her art studio when there are no guests and has decorated it in a very colourful, bohemian and eclectic manner. It has her own art work and includes Moroccan, Chinese, Japanese and Balinese art and flavours. It’s a cosy, comfortable place with cathedral ceilings which make it feel very spacious. All linen provided of course and there is a DVD player (with instructions and a few DVDs). The Studio is well equipped and has a small oven/griller and an induction cooktop. If you have never used induction cooking before – it’s instant heat and very ferocious so be watchful. There is a gas BBQ for you to use as well. Please ensure all kitchen equipment is clean on your departure and that if you have used the BBQ that the gas bottle is turned off. The house is in a quiet street, walking distance to Creswick village, cafes, shops and all its charm. Enjoy your private entry and the tranquillity for a perfect country getaway. COVID information: We are keen to keep guests and our tightknit community safe, therefore we are only accepting guests who are fully immunised. We would expect that on check in you are able to show evidence of your full immunisation. Otherwise, we look forward to meeting you. Thank you for your understanding. Deb and Steve You will have your own access via a side lane and gate onto the deck of the studio. Please note - the lane is a thoroughfare and you will not be able to park there - please park in the street and walk down the lane to the studio. Feel free to use the garden - it's a work in progress but still very tranquil. Deb is an accomplished cook and would be most willing to prepare a gourmet meal for guests (with a bit of notice and at a fee less than a restaurant!). Creswick is a charming village with all the amenities visitors would need. There are cafes, delis, gift shops, 2 beautiful lakes in town and nearby, a museum, pubs and of course the Creswick Woollen Mill where visitors can meet the alpacas. We are 15 minutes from both Ballarat and Daylesford which each have great tourism options and 12 minutes from historic Clunes. Creswick has a great monthly market 3rd Saturday of the month and Sunday hosts the famous and huge Talbot market which is about 20 mins away and well worth a visit if you like markets. Our recommendation for a good meal is the American Hotel which is a 3 minute walk away and the closest eatery to the studio. Also take time to visit St Georges lake - about 1km heading towards Melbourne. Creswick has regular buses and a less regular train service We have a second room available within the house called the 'Safari Room' which is available for 2 extra people if needed. See the listing for more details.
