BallyCairn is the perfect family friendly base to explore the Causeway Coastal Route, Glens of Antrim and Belfast. Located 1km to Ballygally beach with stunning panoramic views of the Irish Sea, Scottish Coastline and Antrim Hills. Only 35 minutes from Belfast City Centre and airports. You’ll love our place because of the unique character of the converted stone barn, the picturesque setting and excellent local amenities. The Barn @ BallyCairn is great for families, small groups and couples. In response to the Covid-19 situation we are doing everything we can to protect our guests and ensure their safety during their stay. This involves closing the cottage for at least one full day after guests leave to ensure a deep clean of the entire premises can be carried out before the arrival of new guests. We will adhere to industry guidelines and recommendations in respect of cleaning and changeover preparations. Guests will be able to self check in at the cottage. The Barn @ BallyCairn is the perfect base to explore Northern Ireland, especially the beautiful scenery and the many exciting attractions around County Antrim. Walk the 'Ulster Way' along the Antrim Hills, location for HBO series Game of Thrones® and the film Lost City of Z. As you drive along the Causeway Coast, stop to stroll along unspoiled beaches and take in the sights of quaint coastal villages including. Don't forget to visit some of the historic castles on your way. Meet friendly local people in traditional pubs while enjoying delicious local food and drink. The Barn @ BallyCairn opened in 2016 and provides self catering accomodation for 6 people. Inside the barn there is a large, fully equipped kitchen, a separate toilet and a very spacious living room. Upstairs there are three bedrooms: Bedroom 1 - double bed, Bedroom 2 - two bunk beds and Bedroom 3- King Bed and Cot. There is also a bathroom upstairs with a large shower, toilet and wash hand basin. Outside there is a large, secure, sheltered patio area for relaxing and enjoying a BBQ. The Barn @ BallyCairn is located between the picturesque seaside village of Ballygally and the historic hamlet of Cairncastle. The perfect base for exploring: The Causeway Coastal Route, Glens of Antrim, nearby Game of Thrones® Locations and Doors, Glenariff Waterfalls, The Antrim Hills and The Ulster Way, Belfast, The Gobbins Cliff Walk. Local attractions include: Ballygally Beach, Carnfunnock Country Park, Cairndhu Golf Club, Glenarm Castle, Carrickfergus Castle, Whitehead Railway Museum, The Jackson Homestead, Slemish Mountain, Broughshane -UK Village of The Year 2018.....and so many more wonderful attractions and places of interest. There is a bus service in Ballygally village so when you don't feel like driving you can travel by bus along the Causeway Coastal Route. Alternatively, there is a train station and a bus station in Larne town, which is 8km from BallyCairn. Both stations have some car parking. From Larne there is a regular train and bus service to Belfast City Centre. Also there is a 'Park & Ride' carpark at Millbrook (8 km from BallyCairn) with hourly express buses to Belfast throughout the day. Please note, the minimum booking for the barn is 4 nights in July and August. It does rain in Ireland.....a lot! But there are so many special indoor places to visit when this happens. Lots of Castles, Belfast City Centre, Titanic Centre, The Ulster Museum, The Ulster Folk and Transport Museum, W5, Cinemas, Leisure Centres, The Odyssey among a few. A wet day is a great excuse to spend a few hours playing one of the many board games provided in the barn or in a cosy pub chatting to the locals. The Meeting House, an award winning local pub is less than 1km from The Barn @ BallyCairn.
