Cozy cottage with Angiddy valley views
Set in the hillside of the Angiddy valley, in the Wye Valley AONB, the cottage comprises 3 bedrooms, 1.5 bathrooms, fully equipped kitchen, 2 reception rooms and large conservatory. Outdoors there is private parking space for 2 cars, patio with chiminea, charcoal BBQ and seating. 10 mins walk to Tintern Abbey and village amenities, close to the local hiking and cycle trails and a short distance from Ravensnest fishery and local vineyard. Monmouth and Chepstow are 20 min drive away The Cottage was originally built in 1870 and retains some original features such as the Yorkist range in the large sitting room, once used for heating and cooking. The smaller sitting room is perfect for cozying up in front of the log burner with a good book, or relax in the conservatory watching the local wildlife. Upstairs features a king size bedroom with wardrobe, a small double bedroom with clothes rail and a double with clothes hanging space and tv. All with sweeping views of the valley below. Guests are free to enjoy the flat lawn and slate patio areas of the garden, where you will find a variety of seating with BBQ and chiminea provided for use. Enjoy the tranquility of the garden area, the sound of the river Angiddy flowing in the background and views of Hale wood across the valley. There is a public car park about 250 yards down the hill. Also parking by the Abbey and two pull in car parks along the main village road. All pubs have their own parking areas but everything is in walking distance from the property. Happy to provide advice and information on the local area at any time during your stay via text or email. Please note there is a working garden in situ so owner may be on site to tend to it between 2-4pm, but there will be no disturbance to guests. as separate entrance to garden will be used. Tintern is an AONB in the heart of the Wye Valley, the Abbey dates from 11th century and captures the tranquility and natural vibe of the area. It is a perfect base for exploring the local area of Monmouthshire and the Brecon Beacons, offering history, hiking, rock climbing, biking, fishing and canoeing adventures. There are local coffee shops, pubs with catering and the Michelin starred restaurant, The Whitebrook only 6 miles away. It is a unique and beautiful gateway to Wales suitable for families, friends or couples. There are numerous walking and biking routes in the area, from short easy walks to the more challenging Offa's Dyke. There are local bus routes with frequent connections to Monmouth and Chepstow bus and train stations.
