It's all about the laid-back surf vibes at our chalet on the 'Atlantic Reach' holiday park, a few miles inland from the UK's surfing capital, Newquay, and within easy reach of all the North Coast beaches. Professionally interior-designed, with all mod-cons plus free use of AR's facilities, this mid-century-styled home-from-home is the perfect retreat for 'Beach Boys' and 'California Girls' of all ages... You may find less expensive accommodation at Atlantic Reach, however it's worth knowing that not all Hosts automatically include access to the site's two swimming pools (one indoor, one outdoor), gym and fitness suites (there are a wide array of classes) and two tennis courts. (Booking via Atlantic Reach is required for all activities). In addition, from May '22 there is a brand new 9-hole mini-golf course. * NOTE: As a 'family' resort, no groups where everyone is under 30 are allowed at Atlantic Reach — sorry! The *chalet* itself has two bedrooms (both with balconies), one bathroom and sleeps a maximum of 6 (plus one well-behaved dog!). We were delighted to be *Superhost* at the end of our busy first season last year and we really appreciated all your feedback. As a result — and new for 2022 — the master bedroom has a kingsize double, while the second bedroom has two new singles. The clever design means they can easily be converted into a double-bed, leaving room for another single/travel cot. Thus, the second bedroom can potentially sleep three or (though this would be a squash and a squeeze!) four. Since Three recently upgraded their mast we have had much-improved reception via our mobile 'mifi' dongle (streaming movies on TV/laptops/phones etc, with no hitches) . However, we still can't guarantee the quality of the bandwidth in high season; as there are no phone lines connected to the chalets and our wifi remains mobile-only, try not to schedule any urgent Zooms during your break ;) We may look retro, however (and unlike the majority of AR properties) our kitchen includes a dishwasher and a washing machine while upstairs we offer both a bath + shower (most two-bedders at Atlantic Reach only have shower-rooms). We have also installed sockets with handy USB charging points upstairs in the Master Bedroom and downstairs next to the breakfast bar/workstation. Finally, there a 32" Smart TV, microwave, vinyl record player (plus vinyl!) and plenty of books. We provide a travel-cot and high chair, if required, however we do not currently have a stair-gate so we may not be suitable for mobile under-twos. Do follow us on the Socials: We're @1manorvillas on Insta ( #1MV) and @1ManorVillas on Twit :) (*Sorry—we cannot personally take any responsibility for the availability or otherwise of any on-site facilities run by Atlantic Reach). You'll definitely need a car as the site is a few miles inland from Newquay with no direct public transport links —but it's very handy for the A30. (The Atlantic Reach car park has a couple of EC charging points). Alternatively, during the summer season direct flights (via Easyjet, BA and Ryanair) to Newquay Airport have resumed from several UK airports and, hopefully, from the EU, too. I live 300 miles away so we're unlikely to meet — however I've got some great people supporting 1MV and can always be got hold of via the airbnb app, if required. Check-in/out is via a lockbox, so it's super-easy. In order to access an Atlantic Reach 'leisure pass' and get up-to-date info about the availability of on-site facilities, all guests must check-in with Atlantic Reach Reception on arrival. Staying near Newquay, the UK's surfing capital, gives you easy access to 12 extraordinary beaches along this captivating stretch of coastline. From Mawgan Porth in the east to Holywell Bay in the west, you can enjoy chi-chi Watergate Bay, the low-tide rock pools and caves of Whipsiderry Bay, the fantastic long tidal drop at Porth, the blink-and-you're-in-the-Med vibe of Lusty Glaze, the easy-going (and easily accessible) Tolcarne, Great Western and Towan beaches, the historic Newquay harbour, funky Fistral's world-famous surf and the peaceful walks along the Gannel Estuary towards laid-back Crantock Beach. However, if you're not a wannabe beach-bum, no problem —1MV is within easy reach of everything else that's great about Cornwall, too.
