The Parlour is a stunning Cotswold stone barn recently converted at the end of a tree-lined private driveway in an idyllic setting with beautiful countryside and lake views. Wild Roe Deer and Birds of Prey can often be seen from the cottage. Close to Cricklade and Cirencester this is a very convenient location for exploring the Cotswolds. Leisurecentre, Golf Course and Horseriding nearby. Close to National Cycleroute45. Good transport links 1.5hrs -> W.London. Next door also hosted airbnb by us. This family holiday cottage offers a traditional ‘cottagey’ feel, with modern furnishings creating an excellent fusion of old and new. Underfloor heating powered by a low-carbon silent heat-pump ensures a cosy and relaxing stay. The garden with paved patio has beautiful views of the lake and the rural landscape of Wiltshire. There is secure parking for 2 cars next to the barn. There are excellent road links to both M5 and M4 motorways and train stations at Kemble and Swindon with very regular services to Cheltenham, Bristol and London Paddington. Managed by a professional holiday lettings company, 24 hour help is available. The barns are nestled in the Wiltshire countryside, yet only 5 minutes drive from the charming Saxon town of Cricklade, the first town on the Thames, and offering much for the visitor. The picturesque High Street nurtures a wide selection of amenities including a Tesco supermarket, award winning butcher, traditional grocer, a micro-brewery, several quality pubs, and a variety of restaurants. Tourist highlights are the National Nature Reserve at North Meadow, home to the rare 'Snakeshead Fritillary' flowers in the Spring and singing skylarks, the splendid 12th Century church plus the Swindon & Cricklade Steam Railway. The nearby Cotswold Water Park has outstanding sporting facilities for all ages including water skiing, cable wake-boarding, sailing, clay pigeon shooting, wildlife walks and angling. Cricklade also has a Leisure Centre with a gym and swimming pool. Cirencester, the Capital of the Cotswolds, is within a 15 minute drive. Offering a comprehensive range of shops and services including Waitrose, a wealth of varied independent shops, well regarded restaurants and unique cafés. There is much Roman history and the Amphitheatre to explore. Polo at Cirencester Park and Eventing at both Gatcombe and Badminton are excellent chances to sample the infamous British Summer Social Season. Swindon, 9 miles distant, has a comprehensive range of shops and services, including the McArthurGlen Designer Outlet shopping village, in addition to a full range of entertainment venues; Cinemas, Iceskating, Bowling, Softplay, Karting plus many more. There is secure parking for 2 cars next to the barn.
