Stylish cottage in idyllic country setting
The Cottage, located at the entrance to the Chateau de Puissentut, looks out across woodland and rolling hills. Surrounding the Cottage is a garden with a deck and tables and chairs for outside dining and you're welcome to use the chateau's pool. Comfortably and stylishly furnished with the occasional touch of original 70's vintage, inside there's an open plan lounge, dining area and kitchenette, two bedrooms and a bathroom. Free wifi. The thick stone walls keep the Cottage cool in the Summer but there is additional AC and fans if you would like them. In the Winter there are radiators in the bedrooms and the bathroom and a log-burning stove in the living area. You have access to the front garden of the chateau which has space for parking. The Cottage is set slightly apart from the chateau and you have your own entrance. You are welcome to use the pool in the Chateau grounds. We live in a separate house on site. We won't bother you at all during your stay but we're always on hand should you need anything. The Cottage and Chateau are nestled beneath the brow of the hill, protected from the weather and with views down the valley to the Pyrenees beyond. It is a 30 minute walk to the nearest village where there is a great bakery, handy grocers and a good restaurant. There is also a tennis court which you can use and a church. It takes 5 minutes to drive. The market towns of Mauvezin and Fleurance are just 15 minutes away and Lectoure is 25 minutes by car. All offer nice options for eating, enjoying a drink under a shady halle or gallery. They also have all amenities including supermarkets and banks. Toulouse is an hour's drive away. Day trips are also possible to Carcassonne, Albi, the Pyrenees and the Atlantic and Mediterranean coasts. Your own car is essential.
