Le Pigeonnier (The Dove House) Nestled in the heart of France in a quiet Burgundian village this quirky dove house, once part of the chateau estate, has been restored and converted into unique accommodation. The ground floor has a kitchenette, eating area, and a walk-in shower room, toilet and basin. The upper floor with bedroom/sitting room, is reached via an external spiral staircase. Parking is available on the premises. Access from junction 23 on the A6 Paris-Lyons autoroute. Outside terrace with BBQ area. Access to owners' garden and 'potager' where you can help yourself to vegetables, fruit or herbs. We are happy to share our local knowledge with our guests. Places to visit - medieval walled town of Semur-en-Auxois, Epoisses (famous for it's smelly cheese and chateau), Flavigny-sur-Ozerain (where “Chocolat” was filmed, but no Johnny Depp), Avalon, Vezelay (with hilltop cathedral on the St. Compostello route), Fontenay abbey, Dijon(1 hour), historic, beautiful Beaune(1 hour). And of course so many famous Burgundian vineyards of the Côte d’Or and Chablis. Straighten out of the grounds there are walks in the forest and in the surrounding countryside . 9-hole golf course 15 minutes away 18-hole chateau golf course 40 minutes away. 7 minutes drive from junction 23 on the A6 Paris-Lyon Autoroute. We can recommend local walks and wine regions to visit.
