Our one-bedroom suite is the perfect cozy getaway, whether you’re visiting Philadelphia or spending time in the surrounding area. We’re conveniently located near Media, Ardmore, Bryn Mawr, and many local colleges. While you’re here, cozy up to the electric fireplace, or enjoy time in the backyard or local neighborhood. The newly-renovated suite features a spacious kitchenette with a cozy sitting area. The bedroom features a workspace, sitting area, electric fireplace, and smart TV (including Netflix, Hulu, HBO Max, Amazon Prime, and Disney+). The suite is attached to our home, but has a separate private entrance and full private bath. The kitchenette includes a coffee maker, microwave, toaster oven and fridge. Coffee, bottled water and light breakfast snacks will be provided. *** THINGS TO KNOW BEFORE BOOKING *** Please expect to hear the normal sounds of life being lived in our home upstairs (footsteps, our cats asking for dinner, etc.). We will observe a noise curfew between 10 pm and 6 am, to keep things quiet for you; and we request you do the same during your stay. We have a two-year old son, and his nursery is directly above the guest suite. He usually wakes between 6:30 - 7:00 am, so you’ll likely hear him - his bed is just above yours. You’ll also hear lots of commotion around his bedtime (7 pm). We'll provide earplugs and a noise machine; but if adjacent kid and family noise isn't your thing, please book elsewhere! We do not allow pets in the suite; but we own cats upstairs. If your allergies are severe, consider booking elsewhere. Our home, the suite, and outdoor areas are smoke-free and we request that if you book with us you respect this during your stay. We’re always available via Airbnb message or text. We’re happy to stop by, say hello, and offer local suggestions; and we’re also happy to leave you to your privacy - we’ll follow your lead. We are a short walk from nearby amenities (grocery, pharmacy) and a few restaurants; downtown Havertown is less than 10 minutes away by car, with local favorite shops and restaurants; and we are a reasonable drive or commute to Center City, with public transit options within walking distance. Getting to Philadelphia from Claremont Cottage: We’re one block away from public transit: there are multiple buses that will take you to 69th Street station, where you can catch the el into the city. On weekdays, the commute will take you about 45 minutes; on the weekend and in the evenings, it can be longer. We're a 15 min drive to several train lines (Haverford or Ardmore) which will take you directly into the city. There are also multiple driving routes into the city, depending on where you’d like to go. We’re happy to help you plan your trip!
