Your accommodation is a completely off the grid (solar powered) self-contained cabin with a phenomenal kitchen and a huge deck. This beautiful eco-getaway is perfect for those seeking a romantic retreat or an opportunity to unplug. We are just 25 minutes from Natural Bridge and 30 minutes from Mt Warning. Close to the idyllic villages of Chillingham and Tyalgum and the retro-happening town of Murwillumbah You may find that one night is just not enough time to soak up the beauty here... *Guests can enjoy local coffee & tea, forage for herbs from the organic kitchen garden, pick fruit from our abundant nut and fruit orchard (when in season) as well as enjoy fresh eggs from our lovely hens *Gorgeous chef-designed kitchen with huge island bench, gas cooking and beautiful cookware *Spacious and open-plan, the living area features beautiful polished hardwood floors - this area flows out onto the large back deck via two sets of French doors *Enjoy freshly laundered pure cotton sheets and fresh fluffy towels *Large covered deck perfect for morning yoga (yoga mats supplied) or a quiet cuppa. *Modern BBQ for guest use *Hundreds of acres to explore as our 180 acre property backs onto national forest *No through traffic means very few car noises (and lots of birds, wallabies and rainforest sounds) *Best suited to couples as this is a romantic retreat, however we do have a sofa-couch for an additional guest *Comfortable open plan living area with TV/ DVDs, books and games (sorry no tv reception, cable tv or WIFI). *Owners live on site (separate dwelling that is 30m away). We can help with any questions or additional needs that you have during your stay. *This is a completely organically-managed property, with only environmentally clean products used in the house. *The accommodation is off-the-grid, so we do ask our guests to consider moderate energy use in the evenings *A wood fired heater is available during winter. We provide wood free of charge in the winter months (June/July/August), for heating, for each night of your stay, for the remainder of the year we can provide firewood upon request. The accommodation is open plan - the bedroom, kitchen and living area are all in one large open space, and the bathroom is accessed via the deck (just off the bedroom area). The kitchen includes 2 gas cooktops, gas oven, bar fridge (no freezer), large granite counter, beautiful stainless steel cookware, juicer, blender, toaster and more. There is a locked room in the house that is used as a store room (not acessed by guests). Outside you have a large private deck overlooking the creek and small swimming hole. Guests can also enjoy abundant access to bushwalking in our valley (no marked trails, but walks up the creek are popular). Your privacy is important to us. After checking in, unless you need to ask us questions, we will give you your space to enjoy your time here. We live in a quiet valley with few neighbours and plenty of tranquility - like most places there occasionally is 'neighbour noise' mowing/property maintenance. It is part of the country experience. You will need a car to stay here. You can access the property and the house in any vehicle. There are 'wet' creek crossings on our road, which are accessible year round. Our accommodation operates as a cooking school for part of the year. The kitchen is a foodies delight - with oodles of room to cook and make yourself a gorgeous feast while you stay. A basic pantry, fresh eggs from our hens (on a rare occasion these are supplemented with local free range eggs if our chickens are not laying), granola, herbs from the garden, coffee, tea, olive oil, rice, pasta and milk will be provided for your stay, but you will need to BYO everything else. *We are very happy to provide a milk alternative, just let us know :) *Please note that phone reception here is poor to absent depending on your phone carrier (Telstra is the best, but is still minimal).
