A peaceful haven and tranquil escape for 5 generations of our family. Well equipped with everything you need including free WiFi, Marshbank offers a welcome retreat for travellers. It is cosy in the winter with a log burning stove at the heart of the living room; and in the summer it is a delight with large windows bathing the interior with sunlight. Ground Floor. The large L-shaped Living Room has a wood burning stove at its heart. The open plan layout incorporates a dining area with an extending table; a sitting area with comfortable leather 3 seater and 2 seater sofas, side tables and a large flat screen smart TV, DVD player and Bluetooth speaker; and a reading/games area with a feature armchair and 3 tub chairs surrounding a circular coffee table. 5 large windows including 2 huge square bays flood the room with natural light and open it up to the views. Our newly fitted and well equipped Kitchen has a breakfast table with extending leaves and 4 chairs. A large serving hatch links to the Living Room. The ground floor Cloakroom has a WC and wash hand basin. First Floor. The master bedroom has its own private staircase making it perfect for couples and families travelling together, grandparents or teenagers needing some separate space. It features a King size bed and a single bed, seating area, TV and DVD player. The en-suite has a shower, WC and wash hand basin, vanity light and shaver socket. The main staircase leads to the landing with 3 bedrooms and the family bathroom. Bedroom 2 has a Superking bed, a seating area and french doors with a Juliet balcony looking towards the sea and the wonderful sunsets. Bedroom 3 is a twin room and has 2 white framed single beds, and a TV. Bedroom 4 has 3 person bunk beds with a full size double on the lower level and a single on the upper. The Family Bathroom has a large shower, double-ended bath raised on a pedestal to enjoy the outlook, WC, wash hand basin, vanity light with shaver socket. Marshbank has worked its magic on five generations of our family and their friends. Now newly decorated, furnished and refitted throughout its ready to welcome you as our guests and work its magic once more. Our guests have access to the house and its private gated and fenced gardens. Check in is automatic with no meeting necessary and parking is off road on the property. Borth has pubs, bars, restaurants, cafes, takeaway food, a boutique cinema and even a small zoo. The university town of Aberystwyth is around six miles to the south. Marshbank is only a short walk from the beautiful Borth beach with all of its activities, watersports, coastal walks and famous romantic sunsets. Borth is a lovely coastal village which owes its existence to the sea, fishing and boats. Miles of sandy beach stretch from the headland at Upper Borth to the rolling sand dunes of Ynyslas where the remains of war time defences are still visible. The Dyfi (Dovey) estuary to the north provides a playground for boating and jet-ski enthusiasts and offers wonderful views across to picturesque Aberdyfi (Aberdovey) set against the backdrop of the hills of Snowdonia National Park. Behind the village is Cors Fochno (Borth Bog) a haven for wildlife which was designated a UNESCO biosphere reserve in 1976 and is unique in the United Kingdom. Borth is part of the Dyfi Biosphere, the only UNESCO Biosphere reserve in Wales, plus the Dyfi National Nature Reserve and visitors' centre at Ynyslas. The Wales Coast Path passes through Borth village. The village boasts a Blue Flag Beach with over two miles of golden sand as it stretches northwards to Ynyslas. The beach is of a particularly shallow gradient, making it ideal for young families. Springtime heralds the arrival of Ospreys overhead as the sea birds make their home along the Mid Wales coast. There is a visitor centre and an exhibition space, as well as miles of rugged landscape and rolling sand dunes. Borth & Ynyslas Golf Club, Borth Zoo, Libanus Cinema are popular attractions. Borth is a great place for walking with the beach, pubs, shops, zoo, boutique cinema, restaurants and cafes all close by. The wider area is accessible by public transport but a car or bicycle is useful for some of the more remote spots Borth has a railway station on the Cambrian line from Shrewsbury to Aberystwyth. Marshbank is close to the local bus stops. There are also many local Taxi companies. Location Borth is located in Ceredigion on the beautiful Mid Wales coast just over 6 miles north of the university town of Aberystwyth. Marshbank is just a short walk from the sea at the entrance to the sheltered hamlet of Glanwern. From the mini island by the RNLI Lifeboat Station at Upper Borth take the road heading inland towards Llandre, Bow Street and Aberystwyth. The white rendered gable of Marshbank is easily visible around 100 yards away, the first property on the left hand side of the road. The Cambrian Coast line gives easy access to Aberystwyth to the south and via Dyfi Junction to the beautiful coastal line to the north with destinations such as Aberdyfi, Tywyn (for the Talyllyn narrow gauge railway), Harlech, Barmouth, Criccieth and Pwllheli.
