Chalet Tête Blanche - quiet Alpine retreat

A cosy, calm, well-appointed 3 bedroom chalet in the heart of the stunning French Aravis mountains, 15 minutes from the mountain resorts of Le Grand Bornand and La Clusaz (skiing, cycling, mountain biking and some spectacular hiking). À 15 minutes des stations de ski La Clusaz et Le Grand Bornand. Chalet Tête Blanche is a quiet get-away in the heart of the Aravis Mountains. Simple, but well appointed, it is a typical wooden chalet, with fabulous mountain views and a balcony from which to enjoy them. The chalet is surrounded by a garden and has a patio and barbeque outside, with a table for al fresco dining available in the summer. Chalet Tête Blanche is in a small hamlet, Termine, a kilometer from the local bakery in Le-Petit-Bornand-Les-Glieres. In 15 minutes (by car) you are in the ski/ mountain resorts of Le Grand Bornand or La Clusaz - with all they have to offer (skiing, mountain biking, road biking, stunning hiking, swimming pools, cinema, crazy golf, paragliding, tourist information etc). Further afield are the lakeside cities of Geneva (40 mins) and Annecy (45 mins) and the mountain playground of Chamonix, with it's stunning hiking and access to Mont Blanc. In less than an hour by car you have access to some of Europe's most breathtaking Alpine scenery, including Mont Blanc, and Cirque Fer à Cheval. There is a folder of local things to do at the chalet and many maps and guide books offering suggestions for walks in the area. There is no wi-fi, which helps everyone switch off and enjoy the peace of the mountains. There is though, good 3G and 4G phone coverage so you can get connected if you need to. You'll have access to the whole chalet and garden, and will usually be welcomed by our local host on the day of your arrival. If for any reason you are arriving late, there is a key safe box allowing you late entry. While we are not close by, we are always happy to take enquiries during your stay. You will also be provided with a local contact in case of emergency. Nous parlons francais et notre hôte local parle bien le francais et l'anglais. Very peaceful and quiet, in a dramatic, picturesque mountain valley setting. You will need a car at the chalet as there is no public transport option and most things are a drive away. There is parking at the chalet for 2 cars. We have chosen to make our chalet a quiet and peaceful retreat from our busy day-to-day lives. For this reason it has no TV and no wifi. There is however a big box of board games and playing cards for entertainment (and there is 4G coverage at the house!).
