Seaside Cottage, on beachfront.
Reflecting the uniqueness that is Bridgie, that relaxed, modest, holiday vibe. You will feel like you’ve escaped the flashy coastal areas and found a hidden treasure! This unique original beach shack is located directly opposite the beautiful Bridgewater Beach. Full of character & with two decks to seek shelter and sunshine, this charming cottage will ensure you have a relaxing and revitalising stay. The perfect place to ‘chillax’!! Sit in the sea breeze on the front deck on a warm summers day, or hide on the back deck in winter, escaping the southerly winds and be warmed by the winter sun. Light the wood heater, read a book, watch a movie, or hit the outdoors. The incredible landscape surrounding the shack will be calling you. Simple living will minimize the daily chores and slow you down to calm the soul and reboot the system. The kitchen is simple, nothing flash! But everything you need is there. In the bunk room there is a plan of the area, get your bearings and go for a walk, the GSWW goes right past the front door. There is more information on the area inside. You have the use of the whole cottage with the back shed locked as a storage area. The key is for the front door. You are unlikely to see the host unless you request it. But she will always be available via telephone. Cape Bridgewater is like stepping out of the rat race! The beach is world class and so is the surrounding landscape. What makes it special is that it hasn’t got flashy! It still has the feel of a sleepy holiday hamlet, Where the simple housing reflects the simple stress free living. The original kiosk is still across the road and now operates as a cafe. The surf life saving club is just along the beach and operates in the summer months, as do the Seal Tours. You will need to arrive by car or bike! There is no public transport from Portland to Bridgewater. Though taxis are available in Portland. Bring your hiking boots. The world renowned Great South West Walk goes past the front door. Water; the shack is serviced by a bore and there is an untreated rainwater tank on the back verandah. You will also notice our hot taps are on the right, cold on the left!! *Currently the Glenelg Shire Council are building a rock wall and footpath along the beach. This is expected to be finished by Christmas 2021. This means that some of the view is obscured to the beach/sea from the house. But of course you can still access the beach! There is also a house being built next door, which I am hoping will not be too noisy!
