Three bedroom converted barn, recently restored offering a tranquil setting for those seeking refuge from the hurly burly of modern life. We're situated in the middle of nowhere yet only 1.5 miles from the village of Batcombe and under 10 minutes car journey from the chic town of Bruton and the thriving independent town of Frome - the latter hosts a hugely popular Sunday market on the first Sunday of each month from March onwards. If your tastes are for something more alternative, then the mysterious and magical place that is Glastonbury and its infamous Tor are only 15 miles away. Other places of sight-seeing and historical interest include: Longleat House and Safari Park, the world famous garden at Stourhead (National Trust), Stonehenge, Avebury Stone Circle and Wells Cathedral. The wonderful Jurassic Coast, think Lyme Regis, Burton Bradstock, Abbotsbury is an hour away while the beautiful and bustling cities of Bath and Bristol are less than 25 miles down the road. The Newt at Somerset has just opened its gates after many years of investment and landscaping. It's gardens, restaurants and Cyder Press are proving very popular with our guests. The Bath & West Showground with all its various exhibitions is less than 15mins away. We're 'rewilding' the fields with cut pathways to let people wander and see nature from the inside. Our wood and spiritual circle can be accessed and used for peaceful contemplation. It's also a great place and creative space for children hence we're now the proud owners of three beautifully crafted dens! In front of the cottage, meadow facing, there's a small terrace with loungers, chairs and a fire pit, which guests are welcome to use. Our guests comment on the wonderful sunsets, which can also be viewed from the sitting room when the weather isn't so welcoming. We're your next door neighbours, so always on hand to answer any questions you might have and to provide assistance as and when required. We're good neighbours in that we don't make noise nor drop in uninvited! The views, spectacular sunsets and the intriguing sound of mother nature doing her stuff are what makes life here so memorable. If that's not enough we have The Three Horseshoes pub, offering great beers, heady cider and good grub. Bruton offers three good eateries in 'At the Chapel', 'The Roth Bar & Grill' and Matt's Kitchen - all highly recommended. Loads of walks in all directions, however my favourite goes past Westcombe Dairy - wonderful cheeses, cracking ale and super smooth ice-cream. Then it's onto the Three Horseshoes before heading home. A round trip of 6k. You need your own transport as we aren't served by any form of public service. Owing to the virus this facility is closed. Our new Beauty and Treatment room is now available to all our guests offering a range of treatments and massages to bring calm and peace to a busy life. For those attending weddings and celebratory occasions you may want to book Naomi for a manicure, pedicure or massage. Prices are available on request and must be pre-booked and paid for in advance of your stay. We'll always try and accommodate your needs even when a booking hasn't been made. Check out the studio in our picture gallery. Owing to the virus this facility is closed.
