Superb gîte with pool near La Vallée des Singes

'La Grange' is an architect-designed, light and airy loft-style barn conversion in Valence-en-Poitou, set in mature, pretty gardens with a large, heated saltwater swimming pool. The private entrance leads to two comfortable en-suite bedrooms. The first bedroom is a double with a large walk-in shower. The second bedroom is a twin with a bath and over-bath shower. Towels and sheets are provided. The living space is on the second floor which consists of a large and stunning open-plan space with living, dining and kitchen areas, exposed stone walls and the original A-frame beams. The kitchen is equipped with a dishwasher, washing machine, cooker/oven, fridge, and freezer. Adjacent to this is a farmhouse table and chairs and a comfortable and spacious seating area. The gîte has excellent wifi, a television with French terrestrial TV and UK Freesat. Outside, guests benefit from the large garden and a saltwater swimming pool which is for use of guests in the Gîte. The owners may occasionally use the pool when they are in residence in the adjacent farmhouse but won't disturb guests. The pool is open from mid May to mid September and heated from June. As the sun goes down on a long day’s sightseeing, unwind with a glass of something chilled on the terrace at Gîte La Grange and take in the peace and quiet of Le Petit Cormy. Gardens and swimming pool. Steve and Susannah are in residence periodically in the adjoining farmhouse. Their good friend Cindy manages the gîte when they are not there, and lives locally. The area is fantastic for cycling and walking, being very flat and quiet. It is also a haven for wildlife. The pretty, and historic village of Couhé is a short drive away with boulangerie, supermarket, and other amenities including regular markets, and a brocante. Other local popular attractions include; La Vallee des Singes (Valley of the Apes), in Romagne; canoeing/kayaking along the Charente at Ruffec; Futuroscope, a spectacular theme park, around a 40-minute drive away. You can go horse and donkey riding locally, and there are some beautiful towns and villages to explore, including Nanteuil-en-Vallée , Verteuil-sur-Charente, Montmorillon 86 and Melle. The beautiful French coast at La Rochelle is just over 90 minutes away. You will need a car to get around. BBQ available
