Spacious, clean & bright property
Ideal getaway for one or two couples, in a quite residential area. Spacious, clean & comfortable bungalow, with lovely views over the bay, with parking & easy access to the town & surrounding areas. Guests can enjoy a fully equipped, kitchen/diner, a bright welcoming lounge, two spacious double bedrooms & lovely bathroom with underfloor heating & large shower enclosure. With large panoramic windows in all rooms, this property boasts a bright and airy feel throughout. Guests can relax in the lounge that overlooks the bay towards Brixham & watch T.V which offers the usual channels & Netflix. There are also a few games & some books you may enjoy whilst listening to music via Alexa, if that’s your preference, when the weather is inclement. In the warmer months, sit on the balcony & watch the sun go down with a bottle of wine or a G&T. With a full oven, ceramic hob or maybe just the microwave, there are no limitations to what you can cook (or warm up, as you’re on holiday) in the kitchen. Tea, coffee, milk, sugar & biscuits, will be provided, to welcome you & if you would like anything else, especially if you’re a late arrival, please ask as I’m sure it can be arranged. The kitchen has a dining area which opens onto the large back garden, with a decked patio area. Here you can catch the last of the suns rays in the summer. At the end of the day, the two cosy bedrooms both offer comfortable double beds, for you to recharge, so you’re ready for the next days sightseeing in our lovely area. Guests can access all of the bungalows accommodation, the front balcony & if they so wish, the rear garden, although that is also used by the owner. This property is attached to our property, but it has its own front door & although the back garden area is open & shared with us, the front balcony is private to the bungalow, so you have options. In most cases we will welcome you to the property & show you around when you first arrive. However, during your stay, unless you need us, you will not be disturbed & we will be considerate to your privacy. On the rare occasion someone is not there to meet you, entry can be gained via a key box. It should also be noted that we have a very friendly & laid back cat, Zen & a young Cavachon dog, Cosmo. Neither of which should impact on your stay. I will mention that our pup does have a tendency to bark if someone is at the door. However, we do not encourage barking & we will do our best to curb any excitement while we have guests & he is improving every day. Set in a quite residential area, the property backs on to a lane that leads into occombe woods, which is fabulous for walkers to explore. There is a bus stop right outside, that can take you into Paignton or Torquay. We are also 2 mins to the ring road, where you can access anywhere from Exeter, in 25 mins, or the Moors in 30 mins. A short drive will take you to Marldon, where you’ll find The old Smoky pub, where you can get enjoy a carvery, or the lovely Church House Inn, that offer delicious food & the country pub atmosphere that’s always so welcoming. There are also the castles of Compton & Berry Pomeroy, nearby, if you like a bit of history. You mustn’t miss out on a trip to the beautiful Cockington Village, where in the summer you can have a picnic & watch a game of cricket.....all very quintessentially English. There are also tea rooms, a lovely pub & some interesting craft shops there. In Paignton itself, there are countless coffee shops & a handful of tea rooms, where you can partake in a cream tea, if you want to indulge yourself when in Devon. A few good bars, some offering live music & a couple of decent restaurants. There is also the Palace theatre & the Vue cinema. You could jump on the steam train for a lovely day out to Dartmouth, then take a trip down the river to Totnes, finishing with an open top bus ride back to Paignton. Of course, it would be wrong not to mention the beautiful beaches of Preston, Paignton & Goodrington, totalling approx a mile and a half of golden sand. This is a lovely walk, taking in Roundham gardens, boasting amazing views on the walk down to Goodrington. There are far too many things to mention on here, but there is something for everyone in this area, from just a relaxing beach holiday, to interesting & cultural places to visit, like Torquay museum, or the National Trust’s Greenaway, the holiday home of Agatha Christie. You will find leaflets & booklets to give you some more ideas, in the property, but if you need anymore information, please ask & we’ll help you anyway we can. As mentioned above, we have a bus stop right outside, or there are a number of taxi firms. You could even hire a bike, if the mood took you, from a hire shop in Paignton, that also offer electric bikes. Because of past experience, unfortunately this property is not available to people travelling with pets or young children. Please note there are approx half a dozen steps up to the front door. This property is part of our family home & is used as so, on occasion throughout the year, so some personal items are left in there. You are welcome to use anything within the property, I.e books, dvds, cd’s etc, however I would also ask you to respect the items & leave them as you found them. Any food staples like condiments, sugar, sauces etc, feel free to use if you wish, but I just want to mention, I don't normally have oil in the bungalow, even though it’s mentioned on the listing.
