Something Different
Something Different is a farm shed which has been decked out as a very comfortable holiday home. It has three large bedrooms and a huge living space. You can really kick back here and relax. Walls and ceilings have been extensively insulated and the many doors and windows allow good breeze control so you will find it very comfortable. Something Different is situated on a fifty farm acres twelve kms from Donnybrook. The shed is well separated from the farm house by a large dam and many trees. Guests at our Shed will be able to enjoy swimming in the dam or the river or exploring lots of walks. Our farm backs onto the Preston River and walking along there will take you out onto Ferguson Road. Directly across the road from The Shed is an abandoned railway line which runs parallel to Boyup Brook Road and alongside that is a wonderful walking track which goes for miles and miles. Great fun for kids on bikes also. Two kms up the road from us is our local Preston Valley Store. Good for an expresso and licensed to sell alcohol. Kids can have a bit of fun trying to find how many gnomes are hiding in the Store gardens (they give a little prize for a correct count). Or sit back with your coffee and send the kids over to Frog Hollow to see all the frogs hiding in the bush We also live on the property but our house is completely screened from view by lots of trees around the dam. We are available if you need anything or just want some local information. Ferguson Valley is our local wine lovers' road with several boutique wineries and some art studios. There's a small local store which does coffees, takeaway food and alcohol just 2 kms up the road. The disused railway line which runs along Boyup Brook Rd has a track which goes for miles and miles. Great for bikes and walking. A nearby property offers three terrific bike tracks (pushbikes) to enjoy or conquer and sometimes bike workshops. (You can hire bikes from them if you don't have your own.) They also have a track which caters for disabled riders. A local nursery just 3 kms around the road can sell you strong, well grown trees which are all sun-hardened. Hidden Treasures is just 4 kms away. Several local farms nearby sell their produce direct to the public. The legendary Mumbellup Tavern is worth a visit (well priced food). There's also Gnomesville which is about 10 kms away. And Frog Hollow opposite the Store. By car generally but you can walk to the local general store Boyup Brook Road is a main road so it's often noisy particularly in the the early hours of the morning when trucks go through to Bunbury. There is a large dam close to the shed so children will need to be supervised.
